You had me at the Seinfeld clip. TP. I'll throw out two more teams. Indy winds up in the lottery and trades it with George Hill for Rondo? What about Milwaukee? Maybe Henson and their '15 lotto pick (obviously salary filler as well)?
I've thought about Milwaukee and don't think they'd bite. Rondo would never re-sign there and thus if he's not going to make them a contender this season, there's no reason for them to make a push for him. It's a shame he wouldn't re-sign there, though. A Rondo-Giannis-Jabari-Sanders core would be really fun to watch in a few years, I think.
I would never accept this deal as a Cs fan, but just for fun, imagine Danny takes Brandon Knight, John Henson, Pachulia, Damien Inglis and a 2016 MIL 1st for Rondo, thereby saving Milwaukee their 2015 lotto pick. Let's say they get lucky and still land a top 5 pick. They pick Cliff Alexander (who turns out to be a longer Faried). How sweet would Rondo-Giannis-Jabari-Alexander-Sanders be?
Or they pick Stanley Johnson and roll out Rondo-Giannis-S. Johnson-Jabari-Sanders. Wow.
I like Indy as a trade partner. I think Rondo would re-sign there, especially with PG24 and Hibbert already on the team. Depending on how bad they are in February I'd accept that deal. If they're like the 9th or 10th seed though, I'd probably ask for their 2017 1st or something.
edit: Still unfeasible because MIL would never offer this for an impending FA, but the above hypothetical offer that I only posted to see how exciting Milwaukee could be if they added Rondo and another lotto pick becomes slightly more palatable for Boston if Milwaukee throws in an additional first, like a 2018 1st or something. Still, it would be hard to imagine Danny accepting a deal from Milwaukee that doesn't include their 2015 1st.
