Can anyone think of some? I think if Harris improves enough in DEN, maybe Affalo would be on the trade block? Gordon from NOLA? Rudy Gay in FA?

Afflalo's a "go-to scorer" in the same mold as Green: a natural second/third option who can be forced into a primary option role on a bad team.

Big Al may or may not opt out this summer. I don't know how realistic it is that he'd wind up coming back here.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
If Quincy Miller hasn't been signed, there is zero reason we shouldn't sign him.

I don't know. I mean, who's the go to scorer on the Spurs? Jefferson's PER was higher than Duncan's last year, if you're into that kind of thing. He's one of the best if not the best low post scorer in the game. I don't know that he can carry a team on his back, but he might be the best thing out there between now and next year, if he's out there.

Well, for what it's worth, we do have Evan Turner.  At least he can create his own shot.  I'm not calling him our savior or anything, but still, he's SOMEONE lol ;D, and I'll take what I can get at this point ;D.  Imo, his talent is such that, if he wanted to, he could win the 6th man award this year, provided that he consistently gets enough playing time.  His line of 10, 7, and 5, with a steal and a block in 24 minutes on opening night was pretty sick.  Maybe he's a fantasy league superstar haha.

He was my favorite prospect before his ACL tear in high school. Right size and length, could shoot from range and finish with authority, had that edge that you want in a go to scorer. You could easily argue that every year removed from the tear will strengthen his body.

I've heard The Lakers and Pacers which would both make a ton of sense. My only hang up with bringing him here is that he has a similar skillset to James Young, albeit with probably a significantly higher ceiling.

Terrance Ross could be an interesting target if Toronto gets too cap strapped to resign him.

Then there's someone like a Tobias Harris or Kelly Oubre from the upcoming draft class. Both of which project to be relatively high level scorers at the NBA level.

Finally I'd throw my hat into the ring for Greg Monroe. Moose has the size and touch to be a very potent scorer and that's pretty rare to come up as a UFA.

Agree.

Despite the fact Duncan is still a top ten 10 defender for his position. Getting Jefferson would require a strong defense, and a PF that can anchor the defense.

Think Gasol, or Hibbert are our big men options. Jefferson is highly unlikely, and Ross may also be on the way out. Hes gonna get paid though.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Rudy Gay is an interesting option for me. I'd go for him in Free Agency.

So far he's been tearing it up. It could be the system he's in right now, but the last few games he has been engaged in scoring the basketball. And I want someone like that. There's not a lot of available FA's next year who can do that.

I hope we make a run at him.

I would be all for signing Rudy Gay, some times you just have to bank on a known commodity and he seems to be part of Rondo's inner circle. That being said it's both or neither.

If we sign Rondo next year I want a scorer to put next to him. If Rondo cant recruit anyone this summer I seriously doubt he'd be able to in the future and it'd be time to move into the next regime.

i don't see how the c's can compete for a title with any of the aforementioned scorers as their best player. rudy gay would make us a .500 team, the last thing we should be doing is emulating the nuggets or hawks, those teams are going nowhere. we need an elite player or two, we should save our cap space and assets for when someone better comes along, if these young guys improve, the c's will become a more attractive destination for free agents, no point in jumping the gun for someone who really won't make a difference in the long run.
the gasol idea i do like, as we do need an elite defensive center, but the odds of him coming here are slim, he's getting older and will want to compete for a championship on a veteran team.
