Listening and seeing Laker fans rip apart Dwight Howard has to be the funniest thing I have ever seen in my life, at the same time I am embarrassed for these same people.

The little jabs, the jokes, the meme's. Maybe they do not see how dumb they look but I definitely see it.

How can they hate a player so much that played one year for them? Left to a way better team. Left a dying lakers squad.

Not to mention the jabs taken at him are usually saying he quit on them, did not play hard, or any other reason.

Kobe Bryant, the rapist non playing defense ball hogger, money grubbing , conceited basketball player does not get one bit of the blame. We all know Kobe's antics and how he can single handily destroy any player's potential when he plays with them.

This also shows how the NBA average fan starts to cry moan and whine when a player leaves for whatever reason. Boston had its own whine fest when Ray Allen left.

Allen deserved the criticism, because he was being a Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.. He was butthurt that he lost his starting spot and wasn't a focal point of the offense.  If he would've went to a team where he was more involved, that would've been one thing, because that was his reasoning.  But no, he turned down a much larger contract and a much larger role un Boston to ride James' coattails.  All of this is bad enough in itself, but add in the fact that it was also their main rival at the time and it's clear that Allen deserved the criticism. His ego was hurt, and that's why he left.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

And our egos got hurt and that's why so many of us cried like little girls here too. In the end it was and still is blown out of proportion around here.

This happens in literally every sport.  Fans aren't exactly the most rational creatures.

Guys who leave town are a "bum", "traitor", or "scumbag"

Guys who remain are often loved blindly even if there are serious stuff going on off the field/court/rink.

I am a much bigger fan of Kobe than I am of Howard at this point in their careers.

I feel dirty every time that thought goes through my mind, I'll keep living in denial, but it just makes me hate Howard even more.

Oh I'm looking forward to it. This is half the reason I come.

I wonder if this stuff happens in lots of Euro sports or if they're a bit different. I would imagine it does in soccer, but idk if it happens in the other sports

Fans getting bent out of shape over transfer and things is universal.

As for me, I'm still trying to figure out a way to put the "hockey player" meme to use. Something like "NBA Fans are whining sissies. If they were NHL fans they'd realize that all life is temporary and everything they ever loved is just waiting to be ground into dust beneath the harsh, unforgiving skates of time."

Only funnier.

I had the impression that the average basketball fan these days had lost interest in both Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard.

Can't argue with that, I felt dirty posting it.
