Could be as simple/unsexy as a buyout.

Just to clarify:  A buyout isn't really separate from waiving.

I.E. - waiving a guaranteed contract requires buying out the contract.  The contract is guaranteed.  You have to pay it off.

So technically, Danny's verbiage should be interpreted as saying that they have "things they could do before doing a buyout".

So it would seem he HAS opened the door that a trade of some sort is still an option.  But in typical Ainge style, he ultimately hasn't said anything committal one way or another.

LOL - end result probably will be just an unsexy buyout of one of the three obvious candidates (Fav, Powell or Pressey).
NBA Officiating - Corrupt?  Incompetent?  Which is worse?  Does it matter?  It sucks.

Keep in mind that there is absolutely no way they can keep all the picks they have.  10 new contracts in the next 5 years is not going to happen. I expect Ainge to start unloading picks.

Did Danny hint that he would look for ways to do the obvious solution to having more guaranteed contracts than roster spots?

Joel Anthony to Cleveland for Alex Kirk (waived)? Talent upgrade for the Cavs, LeBron adds another former Heatle to the group.

1) Alex Kirk cannot be traded until December because he signed as a free agent in August.
2) Alex Kirk is making the rookie minimum salary just north of $500k, so even if he could be traded, he can only bring back $750k in salary by himself, which is $3 million less than Joel Anthony makes.

That said, if the Cavs REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted Joel Anthony, they could use the trade exception they got for sending Bogans to Philly.  But they don't want him remotely that badly.
tp for doing your homework one more time.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Zeller, Thornton, Green, Bass expire this year...who knows.
