Yup, not much of a shocker

EDIT: However, it really is something when you look at the totality of what Cleveland was able to do this offseason. Here are the players they added (in addition to extending Kyrie Irving.)

-Lebron James
-Kevin Love
-Shawn Marion
-Mike Miller
-James Jones
-Ray Allen

I don't know whether I should be impressed, ticked off or all of the above.

Shocking!

Was hoping he'd go to the Wizards.

Now they can trade Thompson, Waiters, Haywood's unguaranteed for next year, and a vet min for Hibbert and have their line up complete.

Irving/Delladova
Allen/Miller
James/Jones
Love/Marion
Hibbert/Varejo

idk, Allen/Miller are getting old, at this point, both these players are backups at best (in my opinion). Jones is good, but also a backup at best. Then with Varejao, you have to worry about his injury problems. Aside from Marion, I don't see their bench as strong or reliable come playoff time. Strong starting lineup though.

Replacement for Dion Waiters as backup SG should Cleveland choose to trade Waiters.

Poor decision by Ray. He looked absolutely cooked in the Finals, and was really exposed when they experimented with starting him out of desperation. While he still has the quick release and is a great shooter (though not as quite good numbers wise last year) he is absolutely terrible on Defense, can not rebound or handle the ball and is extremely redundant with Miller and James Jones on the team. Letting Lebron pick his friends to come along and ignoring the teams needs (someone that can play defense in the middle) could ultimately be this teams undoing.

Well, I think at the very least they are winning the East.

The Cavs really needed a "3+D" type as starting SG.

I do not think Waiters is well suited to that starting lineup. Too high usage. Cavs already have three prolific offensive players in Kyrie, LeBron and K-Love in the lineup already. Adding a fourth like Waiters will cause more problems than solutions. Waiters much better off as their 6th man and main offensive creator off the bench.

Ray Allen is a defensive liability. Putting him in starting lineup puts too much pressure on LeBron to maintain Cavs perimeter defense. Their interior defense is not top drawer either (K-Love, Varejao) so liabilities like Ray on the perimeter are a serious problem. Ray also best suited to that bench role as backup SG due to bad defense.

Then there is Mike Miller who is backup SF/SG (also defensive liability) and Shawn Marion (too old to play guard, not good enough shooter) who is backup SF/PF and Tristan Thompson (PF) or Varejao (C/PF). Not enough playing time for everyone. And still no good option at starting SG to complete starting lineup.

Need a Danny Green type of guy. Or even a Brandon Rush type (non-dribbler, non-passer) which would be fine since LeBron is such a gifted ball-handler and playmaker.

I don't see that pu-pu (or in this case poo-poo) platter getting Hibbert.  I also don't see Indy giving the last key piece to the Cavs for a title

Because it makes a lot of sense to have Varejao come off the bench behind an inferior player. Yeah.

Chicago and even Washington can take them.

Wall, Beal, Pierce, Nene, and Gortat are no pushovers.
