He weighs more, he weighs less, he didn't lose any weight. okay, so what is it???  how much exactly does he weigh and if his weight is 260 Lbs. as listed, what do you think his ideal weight should be???  I'm guessing 245 Lbs. would give him some more mobility and maybe a 1" jump improvement which for him would be huge considering the way he snatches the ball with one hand.

Depends on what his game style will be and what position he intends to play. If he is a PF he needs to stay at 235-250 range. If he is okay with playing center and C's want to use him there 245-260. I'd like him to play PF and be at 235-245. No way he should be over 265 that is just unhealthy.

The pics a few weeks back showed an improved , trimmer Sully .....well at least it seemed and most people agreed

That video of scrimmage ,  he looked big as ever .....the belly flopping .....

 :-\

I was anxious to see the improved less fat , more muscle version .   KO has made strides to improving his body tone .

Dang Sully looks sort of like a candidate for early heart problems .....

I think Sully should stay big up around 260-265lbs.

I am not really convinced that Sully will gain enough explosive athleticism to make up for his loss in strength (which creates advantages for him on both ends of court and as rebounder) if he drops below 250lbs. A power forward in the truest sense of the word. Sully's advantage is his physicality at the PF position. Dropping too much weight could do more damage than good.

While I agree with this, my main concern is can his stamina be at a high level at that weight.

A toned 260 would be great. Last year he looked like a soft 290 or so.

This summer Sully confessed to being in the "280's range", which probably means 289.5 before breakfast. Thus, he'd have to lose 25-30 pounds in order to "stay big up" at your target level, and he's probably about 40 pounds over 250 right now.

Not sure if this was true, but I think I read somewhere a rumor about Sully having lost weight with a bout of food poisoning in the late summer. If that was so, it was probably a very temporary (water) loss.

I don't understand how a professional athlete with a goal of "losing weight" or "trimming up" can't freakin' do it. The reports of him in practice the first weekend being "almost there" stamina wise....How is he not "completely there"? It makes no sense to me. He had all last year and all freakin' summer to get in game shape. He literally had NOTHING else to do or any other responsibility. How does he not get in game shape?

It doesn't make any sense to me what so ever.

Yeah, TP - I seriously just don't understand it. If he can't manage to consistently play 32-36 mpg, then the Cs training staff really needs to step it up with a strict diet and exercise regimen. Basketball, unlike any other team sport (except maybe Soccer) requires top-level stamina to be elite. A player can be a very good player, but why not play to your potential?

There are those around here will say that Sully at 6'9" can weigh around 270-280 and play strong. I think most Americans really do not understand weight charts and what a healthy weight really is. While muscle weighs more than fat, it isn't as extreme as most people would believe. There is really no reason a player of his stature should weigh any more than 250 - and that is on the high end. Don't worry guys, his big butt will still be there even if he drops 30 lbs.

Someone asked Sully about his weight at media day and he said something along the lines of "Honestly its just numbers I go by how I feel."

This discouraged me.

Do we even know how much weight Sullinger lost or if he gained any?

On media day Sully said he didn't actually lose any weight, he just essentially re-arranged it by getting more fit, so presumably having more muscle and less fat.

If that's true then it's smart. Sullinger should keep the weight, but add muscle instead of fat.

No, it isn't. A back issue is a back issue and weight is weight.

Also, he can then perhaps report how much he's lost in body fat in the process? But he doesn't seem to be in a hurry to volunteer this, either, so my guess is that all of this is smoke and mirrors.
