Pressey was a world-beater from the 3 last night, too.

Let's wait for slightly larger samples.
yes, let's not make too many predictions off 24 minutes of practice basketball, especially when the celtics were playing a pretty poor basketball team...themselves.  ;D

but for pressey, his passing has always been terrific. his defensive effort is good and for a very short nba player adequate over all. his shooting has been his worst skill. i always thought that if he can develop a good 3 point shot that he would have a decent career in the nba.

but, as you note, let's wait and see.

He says he has been working on it all offseason.  I also think if he figures out a solid three he will be around the league for a while.  Crafty player.

Forget being around the league, guy could be an all star if he developed a three point shot.

??

What I mean is if Sullinger develops a three point shot, he could be an All Star. He has the physical tools to be one.

My bet's on KO becoming an AS before JS. If KO starts and plays 30+ minutes, he's going to put up some numbers.

Oh okay, I thought the original discussion was about Pressey (more than 4 quote boxes back).

Wasn't his finger injured or fractured for most of the season ?

Bird's hand never healed properly, didn't bother him any.

Right, Gerald Green doesn't even have one of his fingers and he was one of the best 3pt shooters in the league last year.

He said something about his finger really affecting his shooting on the follow through- someone brought up the stats the other day and it was something like 34% from three before the finger injury. I've currently got a broken middle finger on my left (non shooting hand) and it really affects me just passing and catching, particularly when it gets knocked.

Anyway I think he deserves a season to get that three point shooting up to 35%- he's claimed the finger is fully healed.

I'm excited for Sullinger this year, I feel like he's going to have a breakout season.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Right but his finger wasn't really injured or else he wouldn't have been playing.  It just hurt.

I wasn't saying that Sully shouldn't be shooting 3s if he's capable of making them, I'm actually saying that Sully shouldn't be shooting 3s if he's not capable of making them (like if his finger is affecting his shot).

Me too. He is a bit forgotten in this new mix. He carried this team for parts of last season, and he is in much better shape now.
