looks like brad having him shooting threes last year may pay a dividend and sure looked comfortable out there and shut some of brads critics up --it was nice to see zeller almost put somebody on their pants and young showed why kentucky recruited him and started him-remember he is a teenager-

As for Sullinger, he was quite impressive. Hopefully he really can get that inside-out game going this year...

Let's hope it is true and he was not just hot for a day.   I recall a few games last year where he hit like 2 out of 3 it seemed then other games where he was 0-3.  I have been a harsh critic of him shooting threes but even I want him to succeed in a big way.  I think he is our best rebounder hands down.

I doubt if all the threes Brad had him take helped.  Summertime is the time to develop skills not games as your practicing.   You put your practice into effect in games though.  Bird and Jordan often came out with new tricks each year.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Wasn't his finger injured or fractured for most of the season ?
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

Read that last line again. One more time.

Pressey was a world-beater from the 3 last night, too.

Let's wait for slightly larger samples.

yes, let's not make too many predictions off 24 minutes of practice basketball, especially when the celtics were playing a pretty poor basketball team...themselves.  ;D

but for pressey, his passing has always been terrific. his defensive effort is good and for a very short nba player adequate over all. his shooting has been his worst skill. i always thought that if he can develop a good 3 point shot that he would have a decent career in the nba.

but, as you note, let's wait and see.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Bird's hand never healed properly, didn't bother him any.

Right, Gerald Green doesn't even have one of his fingers and he was one of the best 3pt shooters in the league last year.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

That's not really the same thing though. For one thing, Bird had to adjust to the finger, which took time. For another thing, while it didn't bother him over the course of his career, I'm sure it bothered him directly after it happened.

He says he has been working on it all offseason.  I also think if he figures out a solid three he will be around the league for a while.  Crafty player.

Forget being around the league, guy could be an all star if he developed a three point shot.

That's a fairly meaningless comment. I'd guess you were all over Rondo for being out of the lineup with a knee injury when Tony Allen was on the court despite having injured *both* of his knees in the past. Calling an injury affecting someone's play an excuse doesn't somehow alter reality and mean that the injury doesn't affect the player.
