For the purpose of this thread, we can have any center in the NBA, just state who you want and how many wins we could get this year with him. I put Gasol cause he may be available soon.

Honestly. Having an actual center on our team catapults us from a 25 win team to a 40 win team (maybe more.)

It really does.

You need a big (and by the way, a big that can actually play like a center) to be successful.

If you have one in today's center deficient league, you're in pretty good hands.

definitely AT LEAST 10 games. There are a couple of games where we lost because of an offensive rebound on the other team. Even when KG and PP was still here when we didn't have a legit center, KG basically had to play PF and C.

I remember that one game where Anthony Davis had the game winning tip in over KG when we were up by 1.

We need a center so it can prevent a lot of scenarios like that in the future. Sullinger and KO isn't going to do it in my opinion

I'd want Dwight.  Best center in the game, and I believe he is by a wide margin.  You get Dwight and the whole complexion of the team is changed.  Still need some more pieces to be a real contender, but adding Dwight makes this a clear playoff team.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

It's because both guys are power forwards.

However (while we are on the topic), if we had an actual center, watch how much better Sullinger would be.

I want this Gasol pipe dream to end. No way he signs here as a free agent.

Why not?

Offer him the money and he might.

He will get the same offers from every single team that offers him a contract, except Memphis, which will offer him more.  If Gasol leaves Memphis it will be about winning.  It really is that simple and Boston won't be his best winning option.  Thus he won't go to Boston.

Regardless of how unfortunate it might be to hear this its completely true.

As far as centers go, it would be hard not to choose Dwight as the center I'd want despite how much I dislike him and his me me me attitude.

If I could pick I would choose between Noah, Jordan, and Howard.

Yeah, in the East, 50+ wins. If the were in the West they would win maybe 40 and miss the playoffs.

Same goes for getting Howard or Noah.

Deandre Jordan is kind of fascinating as of this past season. He really upped his game. Will some team be tempted to pay him the max soon? (17-20 million per year) put him on the Celtics and i think they win at least 45 games. They would still need a closer go to guy, better 3 point shooting, and experience for the young guys.

I don't see how this is possible. The grizzlies are projected to win that many with an established group of Conley, ZBO, and Gasol (5 years together) along with useful vets in Carter, Lee, Allen, and Prince. Adding Rondo, Green, AB, Sully, KO, Smart, and Turner to Gasol does not make them the grizzlies. This team lacks offense more so than defense and since when did anyone not named Durant or Lebron James add 30 wins to your projected win total?

I like Gasol, I just don't understand the 55 wins logic.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.
