Let`s imagine this

Summer 2009 and KG is in Minessota walking around with his old Sota jacket....
Would you have called it a class act ???

Don`t get me wrong i realy like it and it`s definately something coming from his heart and not a PR stund but it show`s disrespect to the Wizards

He hasn't played a game yet for the wizards.  Exactly who is he disrespecting again?  Their fans?  Seems to me that it was a long time boston great giving props to a long time NY great.  I doubt the wiz expect PP to forget his own history.

What does it matter whether he has played for the wizards or not? He is a Wizard isn`t he?

So you would be ok with KG posing in Sota`s jacket.... I guess you are a better man than i am .... cause i`d be upset!

  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
I don't get why the Wizards fan would be upset, they would understand... Jeter was a huge rival to BOS. No matter how you slice it, Pierce is showing respect to Jeter who has always been a thorn in the Red Sox for far too long. BOS has been the home Pierce was at for a long time, and wearing that jacket is showing the praise and admiration that Pierce has for Jeter after all these years.

I hope Wizards fans don't get too trivial or frustrated over something so little.

It's based on your perspective, quite simply
We're the same and we're not; know what I'm saying? Listen
Son, I ain't better than you, I just think different

If Gerald Wallace went to Portland for some night where the Blazers honored the trade that swindled the Nets out of Damian Lillard, I'd be seething. Crash is a Celtic, through and through!!!

I agree, this will be no biggie for the Wiz fans. Now if he pulls a Joe Forte and wears it to the Wiz locker room, then yeah that would be an issue.

This is all about one champion showing respect for another champion. He couldn't exactly wear a Wizards jacket!

Well let's look at the context here... Pierce was at Fenway, in Boston. What would people have said if he didn't wear a Celtics' jacket?

Always love Pierce.

Also love the fact the Fenway did all this for Jeter. Of all the years of hatred towards Jeter, giving him the respect he deserves is quite awesome to see.

the whole point of this bit to honor Jeter was that it was all time Boston greats.  I'm sure they told Pierce beforehand that he'd have to wear Celtics gear, it's not like he was spotted sitting in the stands just watching the game with a celtics jacket on

I love this just as much as everyone else, but its a non story for Wizards fans and their organization

Exactly.

In other news, Blackhawks fans were outraged that Bobby Orr wore a Bruins jacket  ;D

(probably aging myself with the reference)

You guys are unbelievable

ever since Ray Allen left, Celtic fans on this board have gotten ridiculously over sensitive, and common sense has been thrown out the window.
