Hey guys!

I just moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania a month ago for my doctoral program at Duquesne University, and I'm wondering about possible blackouts for Celtics' games. I've had NBA League Pass for the past two years (through Dish Network), but I lived around the St. Louis, Missouri area when I had it previously. The only Celtics' blackouts I've had were due to nationally televised games and when they played the Bulls at the United Center. I was planning on getting NBALP through my Verizon FIOS tv, but I'm not sure if they would play the games on locally televised channels. Is there any Celtics fan from Pittsburgh on here that can help me out? Or does anyone else know if Celtics games are considered local or blacked out in my area? I wouldn't think that they are, but I'd like to have some peace of mind about the matter before throwing $200 at it, being a broke college student and all! I've looked everywhere online and can't find an answer. Any help would be appreciated!

My best reccomendation is to send in a inquiry ticket to NBA LEague PAss customer support regarding blackouts..

They do blackouts by zip code, and they're pretty stupid about it.

I get Timberpuppies games on my local TV package, but Denver Nuggets games are blacked out. This means when the C's play in Denver unless its national I can't watch it.

Their customer service for NBA league pass is flat out non-existant btw.

Where are you located? Nebraska?

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Blackouts never affected me and I lived 50 miles from Pittsburgh.   I had the other channels so I simply switched to NBATV to watch the other games or ESPN,   I still saw every game just not the announcers I wanted sometimes.   I love Tommy and Mike.

This year I am going to try to broadband for the NBA.   I heard it had some glitches but I heard the same thing about NFL rewind and I have had zero problems with 30 gigs of speed  fiber internet.  I hope I will be as lucky with the NBA.

Thanks! There's actually an application on the webpage where you can input your zip code and see which teams are blacked out in your area. For my area, Cleveland was blacked out, but Boston was not.

NBA Broadband was far inferior to NFL Rewind when I had access to both, though its been a few years.

I live about 170 miles due south of Pittsburgh in WV and just got Leage Pass for the first time last year.  I don't recall a single game being blacked out here.

So I have heard, I am hoping some of the problems were the network for some.   My internet rarely drops below 26 GB even in peak hours.   But I have heard the service was inferior.

I highly doubt it was bandwith related, not unless they were secretly uploading my entire hard drive everytime the game when to giant pixel mode.

Though to be clear, this was years ago and the service has hopefully improved. Sadly league pass international is supposedly quite nice.
