Jack Mac needs to go stand by her statements first. Looks like she asked for the vid to be removed.

Good luck if she wants to get that toothpaste back in the tube...

I don't see why it's rondo's place to deny anything. Why does he have to put out fires he didn't leak (assuming it wasn't his agent)?

It's the organization's role to provide cover and buffer for him. Moreso if the leak came on their end, and even if it was true.
Yes.  I see no need for Rondo to make public statements anywhere to disspell rumors. Imagine a world where professional players are constantly reacting to rumors, what a mess that would be, and just to satisfy certain fans? C'mon. These guys are athletes not politicians, they don't owe us anything.

Rondo hasn't publicly said he wants out... so there's no reason he would publicly say he wants to stay.  If (as Jackie Mac reports) he's told the Celtics privately that he has no intention of sticking around, it's in Boston's best interest to keep that on the downlow... the trade offers we are getting are low enough as-is.

Jackie Mac has had a few reportorial blunders in the past as well. Maybe its the reason why the video was taken down. She was probably speaking in her own opinion without any verifiable source.

Rondo, say it aint so.

I place that onus on the front office of the C's. Rondo shouldn't have to say anything (if it's not true). Either way it goes, it's too late now and you can't unhear these rumors and some aren't going to believe a word that comes out of Ainge or Rondo's mouth.

Why wouldn't it be true? The timing of it makes complete sense. Melo resigned in New York, and Kevin Love went to Cleveland. The best thing Boston got out of its assets this summer was Marcus Smart, who conveniently plays Rondo's position.

Rondo is a professional athlete in his prime who has already sustained a major injury in his career. He knows his window isn't open forever. He waited to see how Boston could play its cards this summer, and nothing materialized. As a big Rondo fan, not only do I respect how he played this out, I understand that a trade is best for everyone involved, too. If Boston can't pull things together anytime soon, I'd rather we get some value out of Rondo, and I'd also rather see Rondo put his best years to good use on a winning team.

I'm also not sure how this hurts his reputation. Swear to god, people fish for anything to smear Rondo's image. It's not like he went out himself and demanded a trade. In every public media appearance this summer, Rondo has been a complete professional. This story leaks a rumor - and it's called a rumor for a reason - of private discussions between Rondo and the upper management. If a player wants out, that's the proper way to do it.

Perfectly said. I agree.

I wouldn't tell anyone anything if I were an athlete, people are so nosy... too many things I would have to respond to, people can say w/e they want without proof. I'm nosy and I know many people are LOL.

I think that means I am RR and a lot of people in the media wouldn't like me.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Not necessarily since she never reported it. That video was a behind the scenes of Around the Horn and she likely opened up without ever thinking it would be released. I trust her and her ties within the organization run deep, so I would assume that she was given that information in confidence that she wouldn't report it.

Mark Murphy is saying that Rondo didn't demand a trade, per spokeswoman for Rondo and his agent.

Well they should believe him. Usually players that want a trade let it be known (ie. Love and Howard). The fact that ESPN isn't even reporting this is troubling. I mean she works for them and they love a good Rondo trade rumor. A simple: 'Sources: Rondo Demands Trade' would do the trick.

Rondo has publicly stated that he wants to stay, and he's done it multiple times.

Per the Boston Herald:

Quote
Rajon Rondo and his agent, Bill Duffy, are both denying that the Celtics guard has asked for a trade despite multiple reports, including an initial report on ESPN.
A spokeswoman for Duffy’s agency said that both men have discussed the reports, and publicly deny that any such request was made.
“Neither Bill nor Rajon know where this has come from, but it didn’t come from them,” Alyson Furst said in a text tonight. “They want this on the record. Neither has spoken to anyone about this.”

It was so obvious it was untrue. ESPN tried to destroy the evidence to no avail. ::)

I don't know if it's untrue (Jackie Mac is pretty far down the line for people Id think would outright 'make something up'), but it sure is a pretty strong denial.
