Avery Bradley seems really enthusiastic on making the Celics a winning team, I think he will make a difference in the season. :)

I am sure I'd also love playing for a guy who just overpaid me.

Not really sure if Avery was overpaid to be honest. 80% from the line and close to 15 points per game, those are good numbers.

Yeah, he is also basically the only Celtic who can't currently be traded - he can say this with confidence without it biting him in the butt anytime soon.

I think Bradley does not understand what does it mean everybody is on the table for the right price  ;D

It really is a dumb rule that we can't trade him until months from now.  Or maybe it is a good rule but I just think that Avery was overpaid and don't want to be stuck with him especially after we drafted Smart and Young.

When I saw Bradley's contract my first thought was, what about Avery Bradley's game puts him at a premium in DA's eyes pesky to lock down defense. Capable three point shooter.. Can get under the skin of whoever he's guarding.

Did Danny just over pay for Bradley because Danny sees a lot of his old game in Bradley?

Conspiracy theories aside having a strong player - front office dynamic is a nice luxury for a rebuilding them. Glad to hear Bradley found the right situation.

This guy could be great for us next season...

http://www.celticsblog.com/2014/8/21/5992239/look-for-avery-bradleys-development-to-take-an-important-step-back-2014-2015-prediction-bradley-nba

I didn't know he shot that well last season.  I think we're going to surprise a lot of people this coming season.  Avery will surely be better, Rondo will be playing out of his mind (contract year), Sully and Olynik will be better, and Brad at the helm...we should be good.

I always said when I left the Celtics, I could not go to heaven, because that would
be a step down. I am pure 100 percent Celtic. I think if you slashed my wrists, my
blood would’ve been green.  -  Bill "Greatest of All Time" Russell

AB, by most accounts here, was overpaid in his recent contract.  I think it's important at this stage of the team's development that every player has the capacity to exceed the value of his contract.

At 8M a year, AB is a consistent shot, 1-2 ppg, and a healthy first few months, from being a very legit 8M (or more) SG.   I'd say it's actually his health that's the biggest variable in whether the contract is viewed as over or undervalued by the trade deadline.   Of the C's current roster, I think only GWallace has a salary that unquestionably exceeds his value.  Bass and Green are looking about right to me.

I like Bradley and I think he is going to continue to improve and will play to his contract over the 4 years (barring injury of course).  He is just now maturing emotionally and has always had it physically.  I saw in a Globe interview (I think) that he believes the next thing he needs to add to the game is getting teammates involved.  That tells me that is he confident enough as a scorer that he actually wants to expand his game.  In the past, he was kind of one thing at a time.  He is 23.

I'd also love it if Avery Bradley could actually consistently keep playing under Danny Ainge, instead of sitting out injured.

Quote
“The reason I ended up spraining my ankle is, I always taped last year and this entire year I wasn’t taping,” Bradley said. “As a result of me not taping, I injured myself. So now I’ll be taping every single game, shootaround and practice.”

The fourth-year guard couldn’t really explain why he made the decision to stop taping this season. He just knows now that it was the wrong decision.

“I just tried something new this year,” he said, “and it didn’t work.”

The best case scenario is that Avery helps the young guys develop work ethic and is around to work with them to enhance their defense to an advanced level.

And if he plays very very well

Bingo.

$32 million dollars for a undersized backup 2 guard.
