One game on national television for the Celtics only-ESPN Vs. Atlanta Jan 14 I believe  :-\

Understandable given the rebuilding nature but we did have more NAT. TV games last year on ESPN.

After opening against the Nets, we go on a tricky 2 game road trip AT HOU and DAL.

Our schedule in November is absolutely brutal.  If we're 4-10 or better after Nov, I'd consider that a good start.

Good suggestion on the Cs having their own channel, just like Manchester United's TV channel in the UK.

I don't know what you guys are saying, I would rather our schedule be tougher at the beginning and end... the teams aren't in their grooves to start which makes it easier to steal wins early and at the end of the season, the best teams are resting players and/or coasting to the playoffs. I see us coming out trying as hard as we can to start the season when the best teams aren't awake and take us lightly.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Not that we will, but I think we can beat every team on that list in the first nine games.

I think most people, including mos of us on this forum are going to greatly underestimate this team this year.

Outside of Rondo we have no superstar player, but I think we have very good talent at every position, a great coach and players who are smart, tough and team oriented.

It wouldn't surprise me if we went 7-2.

We have many players with very good talent who have a lot to prove.

Zeller - getting hsi first chance to be "the man" at center.

Olynyk and Sully are "expected" by almost everyone to take big leaps this year. Particularloy Sully - this is a make it / break it, prove yourself to be a genuine all star level starter or good backup year for him.

Jeff Green Evan Turner - two guys needing to make a statement. Green to buidl on last year, Turner to turn it around.

Bradley & Thornton - Bradley needs to earn that contract - Thornton on a contract year.

Rondo - coming back from surgery - needs to prove this year he's worth a max contract next year.

Smart: appears he feels the need to prove something every time he puts a pair of sneakers on.

I like our team - we can and will make major upgrades - but I like it now as well. I expect a good season from them.

Not sure how well the Celtics will fare against the Nets on opening night. Still got that "Big 3" of D-Will, Joe Johnson, and Brook Lopez starting.

HOU and DAL will most likely walk all over Boston. Can easily see us go 0-3 to start the season.

But what I am excited to see is Marcus Smart and Tyler Zeller, and ofc Rajon Rondo in his 2012 form.

I like your optimism.  2 things though.  I believe Jeff Green is what he is at this point.  I don't expect him to make a statement.  Much is riding in Zeller to be a starting center caliber player.  I'm wary of this, but I admit I haven't seen him play much.  I'm afraid Bradley will level off with not much more improvement.  I'm really hoping though that I do see big jumps in KO's and Sully's game.  If that actually happens where either one of them reach near all star level it changes the landscape of things a bit.  I do really like our guard rotation at least defensively though, and can't wait to see it in action.

I posted this in another thread, but I also think it is relevant here:

I think that this tough early schedule will quickly end the Rondo debate. He will now have a hefty incentive to play his full-out every night early on (proving relevance in addition to contract negotiation leverage) and hopefully will. So this will show: 1) Whether or not he "still has it" (I personally think this is baloney, but lots of people say that Rondo is "past his prime") and  2) If he still has it, whether or not he can carry a team on a nightly basis.

We will beat the Nets on opening night.
Beyond that the month is pretty tough.
I can hardly wait to see us play.
I am very excited.

Tricky first 14 games. I put our BEST potential record at being 5 and 9 in those first 14.

If the Celtics get 5-6 wins through the first 14 ill be happy. The schedule becomes relatively easier after that.
