Colton signed with Laboral Kutxa in Spain.

Pretty good team, better than Besiktas IMO.

The team will be in the Euroleague (not the Eurocup as it was with Besiktas). ACB is definitely better than the Turkish league. He will face tougher competition and hopefully improve.

Good luck to the guy! We may see him again next year when Joel is off the books/team.

Doubt we will ever see him again.  He is a third string nba center at best. Better chance for him to play and get more money overseas

why are we still holding his NBA rights? Because he is a 7 footer?

kid is weak and gets bossed around by bigger centers and power forwards. He didn't show much promise in the summer league games that I have seen.

I think he can play the role Aron Baynes played for the Spurs last year - a body to throw at LMA type of players. Baynes played very well against Portland. Almost no minutes in the next 2 series.

We just need to build a title contender and Colton might just sneak as roster spots 13-15 :)

He strikes me as a Marc Ivaroni type enforcer, with little skill.  But lordly, can he set a pick.

I dont think this will be the last we hear about Colten. If DA can turn this roster around in the next 2-3 years I wouldn't be surprised if a Euro seasoned Iverson ends up as the 3rd center on the bench.

Iverson lacks that extra wingspan length and or reach to compensate for his mediocre everything else. He is not that strong either and bossed around college players as a senior.

Outside of perkins , ainge has done a bad job drafting centers. Melo, iverson etc. We could of had guys like ezeli, oquinn instead. Even bringing in fav when you could of brought in henry sims for cheap is a headscratcher

are we really to take ainge to task for getting inverson with the 53rd pick of the 2013 nba draft? (indiana drafted him and traded him to boston.) only two other centers were chose after inversion and both are overseas playing now. not a minute of nba ball between them.

inverson seems like the perfect sort of gamble for the tail end of the draft. tall, strong, maybe can be 3rd string center someday and costs next to nothing.

we can wonder about ainge choosing melo (i was not pleased either) but that means ainge is batting .500 with centers drafted in the 20s range. that is a good batting average for that part of the draft.

Forgiving the part where I disagree perhaps if another team wants to trade for his rights Ainge would make that trade.

why are we still holding his NBA rights?

Because it is a useful asset that doesn't cost money or a roster spot.  If the Celtics use a trade exception to acquire a player from another team, they have to send something back.  The draft rights to players like Iverson are often used in that spot.  With the league cracking down on teams using the rights of foreign players who are unlikely to play in the NBA, Iverson gives the Celtics more options.

ah ok, that makes more sense now. I never knew about the cost of money nor being used in TE trades...thanks for that explanation and TP for you :)

Kristic will beat him. Krisitic when in the league with OKC and Boston, was ACTUALLY serviceable, in the rotation, tough, and at best a 2nd string center, 1st center off the bench

Iverson will probably not achieve that, and a 3rd string at best
