Thanks. Any idea what the cost is?

$189 early bird price,
$199 after Nov. 5.
5-Team Choice Package (broadband only) is $129.99 early bird, and 139.99 after Nov.5 The mobile package to watch games live on your cell phone or tablet will be $49.99.

I remember it being cheaper if you reupped.   I think the last time I got it, (2013) it was $139 to re-up.

The guys in the article says you can get games but if you have Direct TV you get ESPN and TNT and all the channels so you still get the games.  He must not be the brightest bulb.

I have Dish, and we got CSNNE this past season (I'm not in NE area). Dunno if that helps.

Do you still have it? I called DISH to find out what happened and they told me they are no longer carrying CSNNE because they raised the price of the station for providers.

I also have Dish, and I was watching the Summer League games on CSNNE. Haven't had a reason to turn it since, though. This is not good news.

Yeah, no more Comcast Sports. This is silly -- don't they know that live sports are the only reason people still have television subscriptions?

Either going to hope this channel dispute gets patched up by October or I am just going to go back to Comcast. That new X1 interface is really enticing anyway so it shouldn't be a big loss losing Dish for American television. The main reason we ever had Dish in this household is for Indian television. We used to have both Comcast and Dish (dropped American television) for years..might as well do it again.

Yup, really sucks!!

Don't know who I should be more ticked off at, Comcast for raising the price of CSNNE or Dish for just deciding to drop the station altogether rather than let their subscribers decided whether or not they want to pay more for CSNNE?

To make it worse, because I upgraded my satellite receiver earlier this year, I think I am committed to Dish for another year or two.

I'll have to call and find out. If I am not committed, I am dropping Dish like a bad habit.

I just looked at Comcast service prices and  :-[. At least for me.

Currently on Dish I am servicing 4 TVs, 2 of them have DVR, and 2 of the TVs have HD service. Total rental fees = $21 per month. I have the HD for life service and the boxes seem cheaper to rent with Dish. If I want 4 TVs serviced with Comcast (2 HD, 2 DVR)..it's gonna cost me $40+ per month for rental fees and HD service as far as I can tell. Ick. [dang it], Dish. Stop being silly and bring CSNNE back.  :(

This is pretty much exactly where I am at.  If there was truly a legitimate way to watch live sports (quality broadcast) without a cable/sat provider, I would have dumped cable/sat a long time ago.  Pretty much anything else you could ever want to watch can now be found through other mediums.  Sports is cable/sat providers last bastion, these providers know it, and are likely going to milk it for everything they can.

Unless you are prepared to 'live' in sports bar, you really don't have any other realistic options.

Watching a game in a sports bar is typically like watching a game with a pile of drunk D-list radio personalities who are all ready to tell you exactly why player XYZ is either destined for the hall of fame or already an irreparable bust without even having the courtesy to buy you a beer. I spent a year without cable, and sports bars were the only reason I went back.

Yeah, sports bars can be fun every once in a while, but surely are not meant for just a pure 'viewing' experience.  If I actually want to intently watch a game, a sports bar is the last place you'd find me.

If you live in New England, DO NOT get league pass!

I decided not to buy cable this year - thought it would be cheaper and I have my handy Neflix/Amazon subscriptions. The only sports I care to watch are the C's (and Pats, but that is on my antenna).

I bought league pass last season, but every single game was blacked out. The only way to get around it is to buy a program that changes your IP address to a different region/country. It was a waste of $140 bucks (I bought it a little late).

I liked league pass when I was in school (upstate NY) and was able to watch the C's... but in NE, they assume we have CSNE so it blacks out all games.

Haha, right?  How am I supposed to sit with my nose 2 feet away from the screen in a bar?  Not to mention you can't crank the volume up to 50 and hear all the swears/what the players are saying on the court.

Anyone know whether DirecTV offers CSNNE outside of New England? That would save me from having to buy LP.

how about getting ILP and using web proxy?
I live in the Boston area, and i'm trying to save money by cutting the cord on cable. My plan is to set up a VPN that masks my location so that I can watch Celtics games on league pass without the local black outs as if I lived in another city.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz

I have been getting League Pass for years (cable) and live in Florida.  The way League pass has worked in the past is if games are broadcast as local home games on local channels, they are blacked out on League Pass.  I think that means if you are in the area that receives the Boston Comcast sports programming, you will NOT get  the Celtics on League Pass.  If you are out of the Boston Comcast area, you will get the Celtics games, but may or may not receive the Boston announcers.  They always show the home team announcers, but sometimes have two League Pass stations showing the game, so that you can see Tommy and Mike on one if it is an away game for Boston.  I hope this is clear enough...;-)  It seems to me that there might have been a game last year that was not broadcast...not sure, though...it might have been knocked off by weather or something...

League Pass usually starts in preseason with a brief "free" period, "sometimes" including one or two regular season games, then you have to order it for the regular season games.

There is a brief period when you can order League Pass at a discount....Last year it was $180 for the season...the year before that $160 for the season.  I am hoping they don't raise the rates again this year.

I do love League Pass, and often catch other teams when the Celts are not on.
