I would still sign him. Maybe now that women would be off his mind he could focus on rehab & tapping into his reserve & be the great player he was supposed to be. I try not to get too involved in player's off court actions because a lot of times things are over blown by the media.

Let's not be hypocrite about this because Sully is still on our team and we're still rooting for him.  The difference is the only dumb thing I see here.  Sully was already on a team, Ogden is not.  With his career already in the toilet, he may have flushed it down with this one.  In all honesty, I'd still sign him.

Grabbing and holding someone isn't the same thing as punching someone in the face in my book.  I can understand why Sully would do what he did under certain circumstances.  There is no way to justify what Oden did.

Two distinctions:

1.  In Sully's case, there were allegations only.  Here, Oden admitted to it; and

2.  In Sully's case, he's alleged to have restrained / pinned down his girlfriend during an argument.  Oden hit / slapped his ex.  Without knowing all of the facts, there can be justifications for the former, but probably not the latter.

Nope, I'm having a hard enough time coming up with what could possibly give a 7'0" athlete motive to punch a woman in the face.  It's not even his girlfriend, it was somebody he broke up with 2 months ago, what could she possibly have done that made him so angry?  The best I could come up with is roid rage (the fact that Oden entered the league looking 40 doesn't help).
