  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I mean there are potentially 3 to 4 All Stars and one franchise player on this squad, and they are all under rookie contracts except for Rubio who will likely sign a max extension next offseason.

WOLVES after Love trade:
SF Andrew Wiggins 19 years old
PG Rubio 23 years old
SG Zach Lavine 19 years old
C Gorgui Dieng 24 years old
SG/SF Shabazz Muhummed 21 years old
SF/SG Glen Robinson III 20 years old
SF/PF Anthony Bennett 21 years old

They have an overload of wing players, and considering that Jeff Green will most likely be gone after this season, leaving only the wonderful Evan Turner, I wonder if we could attempt:
Olynyk or Sullinger
for
Glen Robinson III+
Shabazz Muhummed

Another possibility (which I like much less because I'm not a huge Pekovic fan) would be sending them

Olynyk+
Wallace

for
Pekovic

Considering eventually we probably move either Sully or Olynyk, this may be a good opportunity to get back some options on the wing for our future. Pekovic would be a good pick up at center because he's only $12 million per year- but a large injury risk without much defensive clarity next to Sully or KO for the future....

So can we get anything nice out of the Wolves rebuild?
By the way, who else is looking at their team in 2014-15 with all these young guys and thinking 'wow they could be a real contender in 3 or 4 seasons.'?
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I hope the Wolves decide to keep Kevin Love and since they have no legit 3 we trade them Jeff Green.

Jeff Green
Chris Johnson
Pressey
4
Zack Lavine
Brewer
Budinger

I think Lavine could be a superstar. But its hard to tell after just summer league.

Im all for this. Pressey is redundant, CJ is an unguaranteed contract, Jeff Green replaces Love in their rotation. WE get Lavine (who was seen pouting after he was drafted by the Wolves), Brewer (no offense, but an above average defender), and Budinger (who I don't like). Fair trade for both sides. But will Taylor/Flip greenlight this deal?

I do not think DA will get something from them via trade.   It is obvious Flip does not like us or DA.

What would be worth the effort?

Either we trade for top 25 players or tank and draft them ....

Without elite talent the team will be stuck in limbo

MIN only has one elite player and he is going to CLE.  Wiggins won't be dealt once they get him.

I think Wiggins signals a rebuild. I doubt they trade LaVine. ...they could use a PG though, and I bet that if Love goes, Pekovic becomes available. Would they turn down B. Bass, J. Anthony and Phil Pressey for Pekovic? What if we threw in two second rounders?

Bass and Anthony both expire, so they would be able to clear a lot of salary, quickly, and would be terrible enough next season to try and draft a center.

The question is why we would want Pekovic given our anticipated goals. ...but if there is a deal to be made, it would be for him for the "Wiggins era" T-Wolves.

with all these Wiggins talk

I suddenly had a random thought that is not really related

how long does a team get to sign their draft picks before a team can just take it from them? Like, if you don't sign your rookie within 2 months, any team can sign him

For first rounders, you have their rights forever (well, until they sign a contract or are renounced).  Second rounders, I think only a few years (3?)
I'm bitter.

I do not believe we will be dealing with the T-Wolves again in the near future.  Just a gut feeling, nothing more than that.  If we do, it'll be the T-Wolves who initiate the conversation.

Bennet and/or Shabazz?

If the Celts send there Bogans+CJ+Babb, Minny could save 7M. This could work as a Bizarre Love Triangle, where Boston also would send the Cavs' 2016 pick Minny's way, or as a separate trade, Bennett for Bogans  or CJ+Babb for Shabazz also work.

The only problem would be roster space. I'd trade Bass+Joel for Perk and OKC 2015 first rounder and would trade Pressey for a protected second (with Smart and Turner as PG/PF options there will be little time for Lil' Phil), rounding the roster to 15, with Shabazz and Young getting time with the Rock Lobsters.

That Cavs pick would be worth it, Bennett and Shabazz are both talented (albeit troubled) kids. That would be a great offseason for DA.

Why?
