Crazy Idea: Trade Green for George

 Would anyone out there take that crazy risk?  I'd have to think about it if Green was not in my long term plans.

I read that PG might be out all next season. Losing Lance on top of that, with West starting to get up there in age, a season-ending injury to PG is the last thing Indy needed. Why not go for it while West's window is still open? Green and Rondo would help them they stay on top. They could rid themselves of an unwanted contract in the process and perhaps bring in a prospect and a pick too. Boston isn't in it to win it next year anyway, so PG being out all year does not hurt a bit (actually it helps).

Do you really believe what you wrote?

I brought up a similar trade in another thread (leaving KO and Hill out of the deal) - do you think it is too much or too little for the Cs or too little?

With George's contract, our doctors would have to be pretty absolutely sure that George will come back at full strength for the 15-16 season, but if we can't acquire a superstar to play with Rondo, we might as well acquire one using him. It would be a re-building year, but we would have a very very bright future.

Paul George is one of most valuable player in the NBA. Indiana will never ever trade him.
Celtics could trade the whole team and all their picks they would not get Paul George.
The NBA is all about franchise players. You either have one or not. Paul George is arguably a Top 5 player, but definitely Top Ten.

Whats not wonderful contribution is these posts that are borderline troll or written by very new fans who still aren't sure how NBA trades work. We should strive for quality posts that even if we disagree with can spark discussion.

Who are you? I didn't realize that I was in the company of some of the great minds of our time.

Our all-star pg, a productive sf replacement in Green, and KO/a first or two is hardly a 'trolling' trade proposal for a guy who just had a very severe leg injury. George is great, but he is also not in the Lebron, Durant, Davis tier. They just lost Lance, West will be on the decline in the next couple of years, and who knows what is going on with Hibbert's head.

I get it, Green for George is obviously highly unrealistic, but if Indy is serious about competing, this kind of trade could help them out quite a bit. Leave your insults at the door, there are a lot of people here who are more educated and more successful than either of you.

"Leave the insults at the door" as you proceed to insult me? Nice. Either way that is a terrible trade idea. A one year rental of Rondo, a bad contract in Green and a middle prospect for a budding superstar who is still under contract and will only be out one year. Get real kid.

Last year, would you have traded Rondo for George Hill? How about for Mario Chalmers? This is pretty much what a Green-for-George trade is like.

Hmm...I dont think the Pacers would do anything major until Georges outlook is a little clearer. I am not sure they can tell until some time after the surgery.
