pacers are better than us even without paul george.

The Pacers will be terrible without George and Lance. Like..really, really bad. David West is also turning 34 in a few weeks, and the Pacers have no idea what Roy Hibbert is going to play like. They've lost their two best offensive players by far and two of their top 3 defenders.

This was really unfortunate honestly. I was looking forward to a competitive East this year.
LeBron meanwhile gets another break as the East falls apart around him.

Go Bulls

Go Wizards

Too soon.  Not right after a guy gets hurt like that in a World Cup intra-squad scrimmage.

Especially when the guy is playing for our country. Let's hope the reports have been exaggerated and he will be healthy in a few weeks.

I'm assuming you didn't see the injury... That isn't something that gets better in a few weeks. My gut tells me he's out for the season.

he's out for the season. no link but I saw it reported on ABC news.

well, there's one down. there's always 1 or 2 teams esp. in the east that are pretty much a playoff lock that either fail to live up to the hype or fail to build on what they did the previous yr.

i'm not happy about the George injury. but I thought this team was going to be pretty bad this yr. and miss the playoffs. now with the injury they'll be in the lottery.

next team to fail to meet expectations - Toronto

:'( for P George. One of the most likable stars who was still on the rise.

That said, Pacers in lotto land. Scola likely to be cut?

If they held onto Gerald Green & Miles Plums they'd be better off. I think Larry moves some pieces and hits reboot.

Paul George suffered a compound fracture of both his right tibia and fibula, underwent surgery for two hours, and will be hospitalized for 2-3 days according to the Indy Star.

Multiple reports have indicated the surgery went well and that there was no additional damage on top of the broken bones. That said, Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports reported that he was likely out for the season, which isn't terribly surprising as most folks have been wondering how he'll look in the following season and not this upcoming one. Rodney Stuckey, C.J. Miles, Solomon Hill and C.J. Watson are all going to be called on to fill the void by George's potentially career-altering injury.

I feel that Washington's the new Indiana...they will give LeBron's Cavaliers a challenge.

Chicago has never been ready.

The Bulls NEVER had World Champion Pau Gasol either!!!

Way to hard right now to know if the C's are any good.

Yea, not surprising.  Glad everything went well though.

The way things are going, this is Lebron's conference till he retires

I know it is a freak injury, but you have to wonder if teams are going to want to start putting clauses in contracts that prevent players from participating in international tournaments.  As for the playoffs, this injury means the Pacers drop way down and there are now only 10 or so teams in the east better than the Celtics.

Lol.

That's all I have to really say but I'll expand just for fun.

Thinking the Cs would make playoffs this year prior to his injury seemed idiotic to me. Thinking PG's injury makes the chances better just sounds plain stupid. I fear for the Celtics this year. I don't know how many times I have to pull one of these out of my hat but here's a "realistic" prediction for the playoffs this year based off last year and off-season additions IMO:

CHI
CLE
ATL
CHA
WAS
MIA
TOR

That's seven. Indy was always in there for me. W/Out Lance and PG I doubt they can make the playoffs...Ewing Theory doesn't account for two all-star level players like that. Still, Celtics are far from assuming that spot. BKN, NYK, and even DET are ahead of us. Frankly, I've lost faith in DA but I'm reserving my full-out giving up until next summer if we don't make a splash.
Long-form is far from dead, but please refrain from paragraph-laden posts! Who wants to read that?!

I can understand somebody saying they would prefer to play against the best team their opponent could put on the floor but to say they don't want to make the playoffs because of injuries to an opponent is absolutely ridiculous!!!

One last thing......does anyone on this board have anything good to say about the C's or is this some kind of disguised Laker board?????
