Let's be realistic here, the east is wide open now and the celtics signing evan turner now they are obviously looking to compete at a higher level then last year. If everything pans out honestly I feel like celtics are at best 7th seed with this roster at worst 3rd to last in the east. I feel like rondo, bradley, green, sully, zeller could be a pretty exciting 5.. now with smart, turner,  bass, wallace, anthony,olynk, Thornton think that's a decent bench. Obviously someone's expendable bass green Wallace you pick.

We really don't need to tank for that better pick, we have Brooklyns pick and we all know how they Will prob sit next year as well.

I'm excited man.  I can't wait for these guys to keep developing and getting better.  We're making the moves we can to improve and may make more before the season starts.  Sit back, support your team and trust in their decisions.

I truly am excited as well and have been because I've always said from beginning that no matter what the celtics have so many options to do for this roster every which way. I'm guessing many people are going to fell this turner signing my open up something to pursue love trade even more and I won't hate on that opinion either.  So much can be done and plenty of time left.

Yep I highly doubt this is our roster on opening night.  Just another step in the process which is why I'm not fretting about deficiencies at this point.

so let's optimist assume that the east breaks down as such:

seeds 1-5 in no particular order: Raptors, Cavs, Bulls, Pacers, Washington
seeds 6-10 in no order: Charlotte, NYK, Brooklyn, Boston, Detroit, Atlanta
sorry Milwaukee, Philly, and Orlando... no star-power, no bench-strength, too much youth

ANYWAY... out of teams 6-10, there is no better bench than the boys in Beantown. Boston is at least 1.5 deep at each position (can't give the Center position any depth, but they're serviceable on both ends).

I'm holding back any excitement as I predict there will be at least one major move left for the Celtics. Harden being traded on the eve of two seasons ago made the whole "anything's possible" all the more real. It's early but my prediction of teams in the playoff hunt this year are as follows:

CLE
IND

Boston is left out. Gotta remember Detroit will also be making that push this year with their off-season acquisitions. Their roster isn't perfect but it's going to thrive off of hot shooters. I'm not sold on Boston's playoff chances yet. And I'd rather not see them in the playoffs only to be fodder for the 1/2 seed.

We do not have Brooklyn's pick this coming draft, we have the Clippers. Also, between Wallace, Green, and Bass; I'd take Green every day of the week.

I wish that were true.  We have Nets picks in 2016 and 2018.  Next year we have the clips and likely  a second rounder from Philly (no way they make the playoffs).


In any event we absolutely should play to win!!!  Tanking is for suckers..

I agree with 6 to 10 being open like that, boston definitely has a stronger bench out of those 5 teams.  I am excited cause more can happen. 

Has anyone seen the video of rondo with friends playing ball or working out? Someone mentioned it today and mentioned he's much bigger and leaner now.

As long as Brandon Jennings is their pg, I just can't buy into the Pistons yet. All the talent in the world though.

Speaking of fodder. My friend grows his own on his farm, its really great stuff lol.

I think Brooklyn and NY are also ahead of us. The East is not the west, but its not the laughing stock it was last year.

I'm sorry I should've clarified more than nets picks I meant all the picks in general to make more moves as well. And meant nets in 2016 will be a lot worse than 2015. It's obvious that aren't tanking with the construction of this roster

When I look at Toronto's roster I don't see them being any better than us.  Lowry played out of his mind and they had great chemistry.  It wasn't talent that won them games.  Same goes for  Atlanta, Horford and Millsap are good but other than that there isn't much talent.  They had good coaching though and decent chemistry.

Charlotte should be better as should Washington and the Bulls.  But we all know injuries are the wildcard and some of these teams aren't very deep.  We might not have top talent but we have a really  deep roster at the moment.  Likely some are on the move to get the numbers down, but I suspect that will only make us stronger when we package a few guys for someone a bit better..

In any event, I feel very optimistic that this year will be much more fun to watch than last year.   We could be decent!!!

Yeah I mean you never know what'll happen.  We have a club with great management, a star PG, and a bunch of youth that has potential to be better this year than last.  We can move the ball well and that can't be said for every team in the east.  Maybe we make another move before the season starts but things are definitely headed in a good direction considering what we're working with.

You've got Pacers, Heat, Raptors, Bulls, Wizards, Bobcats, and Cavs.  The rest I could easily see floundering.  Celts getting into the playoffs is definitely a possibility.

If we make the playoffs while playing guys that are in our future plans then i will be happy. But if we play guys like Thornton, Bass, just to make the 8th seed and be FODDER for the #1 seed, ill pass.
