  • About five seconds after 17 O'clock!!
The Boston Celtics announced today that they have completed a sign-and-trade agreement with the Washington Wizards in which the Celtics acquired a future conditional second round draft pick and a trade exception in exchange for forward Kris Humphries.

I wonder what the trade exception is?

It wasn't specified as to the year of the draft pick, right?  I'm assuming that it just said, "future draft considerations (albeit one in the 2nd round, as you alluded to)."

4.3 million dollar TPE.

I liked what Ainge did to sign and trade Humphries to the Wizards. Ainge does a nice thing where he sends off hard working individuals to great places to try to contend, ala Pierce/KG.

Ainge is doing a great job at helping our team. He got us a young center in Zeller and a 1st round pick for a trade exception. Then he got us another trade exception and a 2nd round pick for helping a team sign a player that we were going to let go to a larger contract than they could have given him. In doing so, he not only acquired assets for nothing, he made an agent happy which helps him negotiate future trades and contracts. Ainge is turning up assets and good relationships out of nothing.

If Ainge gave out ten dollar bills here, someone would complain that theirs was wrinkled, or they didn't get the first one.

Ainge sucks. He only converted nothing into something for the second time this offseason. Should have been going for MORE something!

I would say most trades with Danny I'm happy with, and trades like this help build goodwill around the league with GMs and agents.  With all this asset collecting hopefully that will help us when we are ready to cash in some of it.

Ainge has made lemonade out of lemons this off season.   Our assets were not valued enough to make a firework deal.  I am sure he tried but a number six and Sully or Oly could not get it done.

I'd complain it wasn't a hundred.  Cheap son of a gun! >:(

Why? Because he hasn't brought in a big name yet? I'm pretty sure the PP TE were he got Zeller, a Good Sized expiring contract SG in Thorton, and a first round, that some other team would have gotten was beneficial for us.

Signing Humps for a TE that could be used for an other player like Turner if he moves Green will be helpful to us. Humps could have just left, and like other said, this makes things nice with agents and other GM's that might help out later.

Think if DA needs a third team for a deal, now he has two GM's that he's just helped out that he could reach out to for some help.
