No. We're not going to tank. However, we also won't make the playoffs...
Because of:
Cleveland, Chicago, Washington, Charlotte, Miami, Indiana, Toronto, and either Brooklyn
or Atlanta...
(I doubt New York will make the playoffs)
So, we'll develop the guys miss the playoffs and get a pick around #11 or so. At that point we'll either sign a new center like Gasol and draft a dynamic Small Forward like Stanley Johnson, or we'll trade the pick and a vet or two for Okafor or Towns, since a bunch of bottom dwellers have centers already and will be ready to to turn their teams around instead of continuing to develop youngsters. Either way sounds good...My point being I don't think we're going to draft a middling center like Cauley Stein or Dakari Johnson. I'd say we're gonna sign a stud center or trade for a young one.
As for this year, I'm hoping we trade Green (how about for Tyreke Evans-he's 6'6' and could start at SF with Young off the bench.. plus the Pelicans could really use Green between their excellent guards and bigs...add a second rounder if needed). And I'm hoping we start Smart at SG (I don't care about lack of outside shot from Rondo Smart and Evans those are 3 bad-arse ball players).
Rondo, Smart, Evans, Pressey
Smart, Bradley, Evans, Young
Evans, Young, Johnson, Wallace
Oly, Sully, Bass
Zeller, Sully, Vitor
plenty of offense off the bench: would be nice to package Sully, Wallace, Pressey and a pick or two
for a stud starting PF, so Kelly could come off the bench at PF and Center. I think Sully's being underrated here lately but we need one more athlete on this team and after showing his stuff early this year maybe such a trade could be feasible. Kelly could be the one traded if Sully outshines him, which is very possible. To get what we'd want we'd have to throw in picks...
The reason for starting Smart at SG is his advantage over Bradley in facilitating/passing and size. Bradley will make a great spark plug off the bench for offense and defense and will work great next to backup PG Smart.
that's my take and my wishes on the upcoming months...
