We probably have to wait for the passing of the LeBron era and the maturation of these players, but it would be great if Embiid and Smart could lead a renewal of the old Boston/Philly rivalry.

The two teams could be on a similar, rising trajectory for a few years before they both grow into contenders once more.

that was such a lie, there was no delay of course they would say that. but even if there was, wouldnt you be smiling for the next hour or so after getting drafted? or the hour before you get drafted top 3?

It was a delay...ESPN even showed the correctly timed footage on Draft Night...aka the footage where Embiid is excited as we would expect anyone who can't play right away but will get paid to do so in the $3+ million range.
