I knew this would happen.   Now the Wolves have to try somehow to get both Wiggins and Thompson and let GSW and the Cavs kill each other for Love.

But what if the wolves could make this happen

To GSW: Waiters, Bennett, Dieng, Cavs future 1st
To Wolves: Thompson, Wiggins
To Cavs: Love, Barnes

The Cavs want Love, but they're not idiots.  Wiggins + Waiters + Bennett + Thompson + #1 is *way* too much.
Which is why Woj's reports of the Cavs searching for a third team make sense in a way. Hard to construct a trade that makes salaries work but also fits what the Cavs/Wolves want.

Dont understand why they didn't in the first place.

I understand that Klay's two way style of play and developing game is something you dont want to give up. But, dude, this is Kevin Love we're talking about here.

Because you can probably get him for just Harrison Barnes and David Lee, since you believe that Minny is ultimately going to blink first.

Until LeBron went to Cleveland they had no reason to think Wiggins was on the table. That changed everything.

Too Late for LOVE!

This song is really fitting.

That's also true and probably more pertinent.

Ultimately I think Golden State stands pat while Cleveland ends up sending Wiggins, Bennet, and change over to Minnesota. In January.

Could be.

I'm thinking Cleveland messes it up somehow and doesn't land Love.

Maybe Wiggins pulls a Blake Griffin and is out for his rookie season, that sort of thing. Anthony Bennett is caught wearing a FreePalestine shirt. Dan Gilbert decides Love doesn't look good in Comic Sans...

Issue is does LeBron let that happen? Not unless he really loves playing with Wiggins....

No way in heck GSW makes that deal.  If there's a deal with a third team it will likely involve Love for Wiggins/filler and then the third team taking on one of more of Minny's long-term contracts in return for Waiters and/or Bennett.

I think Gilbert's going to cowtow to LeBron harder than when he left the first time. If James wants Love, Love will be Cleveland bound -- even if it kneecaps them.

I think they will have serious trouble finding a third team willing to do that.

Why not us? Especially if we are going full tilt rebuilding mode, and could get both Waiters and Bennett? That would upgrade our roster at 2 positions. I know we are trying to clear cap space for next year, but that is such a huge gamble with no guaranty that any FA will come here.

Of course, Kevin Love will have a say in this.  What if he strongly prefers Golden State?  Might not want to get swallowed up by the LeBron attention, sort of becoming LBJ's new b-word, in place of Bosh.  These guys have egos.  He reportedly already agreed to extend an extra year for GS, have heard no similar offer with CLE. Stay tuned, I guess.

Because Waiters/Bennett aren't all that good nor are they cheap given how highly they were picked.

Remember we'd be taking on another undesirable contract or two as well.
