NBA.com has a story that Ed Davis has agreed to a 2mil 2yr contract with the hated LA Lakers!  Was really hoping C's could snag him for rim protection!

Right now we have 3 centers. And 18 players total on the books. DA has to move some pieces before he can start signing more players.

I think Zeller will be good. He's healthy and isn't behind two other centers. His last handful of game he was really good. While not a true rim protector, he has a lot of other really good skills. Plus Stevens recruited him when he was in highschool, both being from Indiana, and most likely played against him in college. So he would know how to use him best and what he's capable of.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
If Okafor is healthy he is a great target. If not bring in Udoh. At this point though i think a trade for a big using Bogan's non guaranteed is more likely than a straight signing.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I believe there was a thread about this already.  Are we seriously going to complain about not signing Ed freaking Davis?  Not a big loss at all.  Besides, did you want someone to replace Humphries to recreate the logjam at PF?

we didn't get ed davis because we're not shopping for a center anymore. we're rolling with Anthony and Zeller this yr. i'm not in love with the idea but I also have no problem with not going crazy trying to fill this spot while we still don't have a star on this team.

just because we need a center doesn't mean we should go sign or trade for any and every center that's available.

it's like these football teams that are desperate for a QB that make lousy trades to move up in the draft to take a lousy QB that has no shot of being a NFL QB. but they feel compelled to do the move anyway to show that they're "addressing the issue".

I think Ainge values the center position very much. but isn't going to go signing Mark Blount again because "we need a center".

idk why ppl were so jazzed about Ed Davis.. he was averaging 15 min (6pts/4reb) on a team that highly features post play.
I get that he was cheap.. but at this point, i'd rather have overall quality then size.
No thanks.
