i think cousins is a top 2-3 center.  top 2 if anthony davis isnt a center.

That's a bold statement.

Marc Gasol
Dwight Howard
Joakim Noah

Are all better Centers in my mind, I would say Cousins is a top 2-3 offensive Center. I don't think there is any center that is better than him right now offensively, except maybe Brook Lopez, but there's the age/injury history.

And Anthony Davis is definitely a PF. Its perfect if NO gets Omer Asik, putting Asik/Davis is a deadly defensive duo in my book.

There's no way Noah is a better center than Cousins.  I think Noah has become massively overrated.  He's a great role player, but not a franchise centerpiece.

Noah is a mediocre offensive player.  His passion is off the charts, but his defense is largely attributable to Tom T.'s system.  Case in point:  the Bulls' defense is exactly the same with Noah playing as it is when he's on the bench.  For a guy with a supposedly huge defensive impact, that doesn't make much sense.

Cousins is elite offensively and in terms of rebounding, and statistically he rated out as a good to very good defender.

I think what Noah can bring to the court is more important to me. Intangibles, playoff experience, hustle, and leadership that Noah can bring to a team. I agree the case in point didn't make sense, but Noah is still a great defender, and deservedly the rightful owner of a DPOY.

Cousins isn't as bad of a defender I was allegedly making him out to be, I just don't believe hes anywhere near that level as of yet. And it doesn't matter. Cousins has 3-4 years to work and improve his game.

I feel like D. Howard is also incredibly over-rated. I know a couple die hard Rocket fans who swear they were a better team with Asik on the floor. Cousins is a beast and the only thing holding him back is his tendency to completely lose his mind on the court

+1
I couldn't agree more.  Dwight Howard is in the Top 3....Top 3 Overrated.
Before a game on Christmas against the Pacers, Bird told Chuck Person that he had a present for him. During the game, Bird shot a 3-pointer in front of Person. Immediately after releasing the ball, Bird said to Person, "Merry F!#*ing Christmas!" and then the shot went in.

I've thought he was overrated for years. To be that huge and not really have true centers to stop him in the NBA now and he's still not the most dominate player on the court on most nights.

Or he's just saying what other stars' sentiments on Rondo:

"You really can't. Every time he has the ball, you always have to know that he's capable of making something happen, not only for himself, but for his teammates...He's like Barry Sanders. You wouldn't want to run up on him all crazy in the backfield back in the day, either. He'll spin you around and get a touchdown. So you gotta be smart with it." - LBJ

"When we played against them, you saw really good basketball. You saw smart players, unselfish players who played both ends of the floor, multi-faceted players.

So of course I’d hoped for a team like that to stick together, because that’s the maximum level of competition that you’re going to have. I mean, that 2010 series is my favorite series of all time, just because it was the most competitive one. It was the most difficult one. I mean, we’re going against four future Hall of Famers. That doesn’t happen too often.” - Kobe

I love that Noah is on the list ( and agree 100%).

I also remember when Noah was drafted and about, oh , 90% of celticsblog proclaimed him a bust and a wasted pick from day one. It's useful to keep in mind when reading our incredibly uninformed opinions on this years draft class after watching s few summer league games...

DMC is going nowhere unless he says he won't resign there.

I never said I want him gone, but obviously the Kings want him, and so does Cousins. What's wrong with that? He's a valued player.

I'm not aiming it to you. It's for people who want him gone even after all the praise he gets from  Allstars and Superstars.

Cousins is notoriously guarded, and this is crystal clear the whole time. Simmons doesn't mesh well with these kinds of things, especially since his schtick is basically a friendlier Norm MacDonald.

That smirk at the minute mark, when Anthony Davis is brought up, though. fantastic.

Dang, I really wish we would have traded for Cousins back in 2012. I think SAC wanted Green, Sullinger, Bradley and Lee for him...quite a lot but it I think it would have been worth it. Just seeing Cousins play and grow alongside KG would have been awesome.
