I had posted this as a response in another post, but I'd like to see everyone's thoughts on it. My thoughts below:
Quote
...everything about this team (rim-attacking guards, mobile and jumpshooting big-men) are primed for an uptempo, fast-break based offense. I just wished we had more "shooting" guards than just thornton.

Defensively, it's set up for a full/half-court press team with those 3 ball-hound guards. Only hope that the bigmen are mobile enough to disrupt passing lanes and hawk on the ball when needed.

This plays to everyone's strengths, while covering up the weaknesses of the current roster
Offense: guards can't shoot, bigmen that won't be averaging 12+ rebounds
Defense: good but smaller guards, no rim protection from the bigs
Assuming that the roster stays as-is, what will be the Celtics' style of play next year?

Even at the end of the game, we lined up in different formation that he hadn't seen and he called out our play before I got the ball. I heard him calling it out. -John Wall on Brad Stevens

I think they're going to have to rely on D and grind out low scoring games....they just don't have guys who can put the ball in the basket.  I hope they are at least able to move the ball on O.  I'm afraid Rondo is going to get frustrated and pound out the shot clock.

Kinda... but I envision more like VCU or Arkansas's "40 Minutes of Hell"... pressure D and attacking O

Similar to last season: slow, sloppy, and low-scoring.  ;D
There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, 'All right, then, have it your way.'

You don't have a soul. You are a Soul. You have a body.

I'd like to add "bad" to this list.

On offense Rondo will pound the ball into the floor for 20 seconds, and then pass it off to some poor unfortunate soul who will have to throw up a last second shot.

On defense Rondo will be beaten of the dribble, and the driver will either be fouled or pass the ball off for a dunk.

On offense Rondo will pound the ball into the floor for 20 seconds, waiting for his teammates to actually start running the play's motion. When the play breaks, he will try to create something out of nothing with a simple P&R.

On defense Rondo will let the dribbler past him to the area where our rim protectors and help defense should be - late as usual. As a result of the slow rotation, the driver will either be fouled or pass the ball off for a dunk.

See, it goes both ways!

Y'all are laughing, but it's sad. I go home and deny the wing."

Hopefully better than last season. Trading Rondo will help. I'm looking for athletic high flying type of basketball. This year needs to be about rebuilding developing and tanking.
