there are a few tier-2 free agents in 2016...even fewer in 2015...nothing up jumping up and down for...especially considering we would be over-paying for a tier-2 free agent...

i think DA is brilliant but all the assets we have are not going to get us tier-1 free agent in the next 2 years...

look at the 2 lists...are there any tier-1 free agents that you think we can get...are there any tier-2 free agents worth over-paying hoping that they will put us over the top...

Exactly. The best free agents the Celtics can get even when they're contending is guys like Shaq and Sheed guys at the end of their careers. These players don't care about the weather or night life generally. Just about winning.

You do realize that we didn't have much money to spend on free agents when we were contenders, right? For the money we had Sheed was the most sought after FA in the league. I wouldn't be surprised if Shaq was as well. And these guys aren't at retirement age, they're in their 30s. I'm sure they have a decent interest in weather and night life.

As much as a joke as he is around here now, there are plenty of other teams that would have wanted Stephon Marbury when he was bought out by the Knicks.  I believed he signed with us for the league minimum.

1.  Leonard and Drummond do not deserve to be on those lists.

2.  If this team goes out and makes the playoffs next season and then has room to offer a max-deal, they'll absolutely be in the running for Love and possibly others.

I don't agree that there is no hope for the Celtics in Free Agency because I don't thing big names have been jumping ship in FA for that long of a time. Charles Barkley says all the time in his day, you stuck with a team until you were traded or until the very end of your career. This whole superstars teaming up during their prime is a very new thing in the NBA. With that being said I don't think we have a chance with Love, if he does become a FA next summer there is no way he does not head to the Lakers. Too much drawing him there, he is an example of a player we could not bring to boston in the open market

Granted, the next time a big fa signs here will be the first, but i maintain that the celtics have never OFFERED a big name fa a contract because they havent been in position to do so in forever.

If people with a better memory can name some please do!

I mean how different are nba players form other athletes who seem to love playing in boston?
