Dumb move for him because the Knicks aren't going anywhere.  With this move, he'll never win a championship.  I wanted him so badly (still do) but if he was planning to join with Lebron somewhere, this is good for us.

While Phil is somewhat unproven as a front office guy, I could see him turning that franchise around pretty quickly. He is the first proven basketball mind they have had in charge since the 90's.

Already rumors that he is somehow close to dumping Amare's contract on the 76ers.
Actually the Amare thing isn't that surprising since he is now expiring and the Sixers are way below the salary minimum of 56 million (even absorbing Amare's entire 23 million they still aren't at the floor, though they do still have to sign their rookies).  If Philly gets a nice young asset for their trouble i.e Shumpert, Larkin, or Hardaway, it makes a lot of sense for them.  And from a basketball standpoint, Philly absolutely could use Amare's scoring next to Noel's defense this year.  I actually like the move for Philly.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Good he saved Ainge from himself. Good to see these teams are forcing him to do the right thing and do a proper rebuild by blowing the rest of this up.

Good, I want the Knicks to stink and as long as Melo's their best player they will. And I want another "Star" player to turn down the Lakers too. Now I hope Lama face (Gasol) will depart LA and head to the Spurs or OKC.
Peace through Tyranny

Jackson is a winner because he runs away when the team has passed its peak and jumps on the next bandwagon.
For Fisher, winning as a player doesn't mean that he will win as a coach...especially since he has never coached before.

I hope this fails for all involved.
Before a game on Christmas against the Pacers, Bird told Chuck Person that he had a present for him. During the game, Bird shot a 3-pointer in front of Person. Immediately after releasing the ball, Bird said to Person, "Merry F!#*ing Christmas!" and then the shot went in.

yeah I didn't think melo had the stones to take less money and go to somewhere where he had a legit shot at a championship.

I've questioned his intelligence since he left Den. to go to NY and what's really important to him. and thus far I don't see winning as a priority with him.

Is this legit? ESPN says he hasn't made a decision yet, per his agent:

This is the argument for being willing to trade for a star who will be a free agent without a guarantee of an extension: because you can offer that extra year.

This isn't legit at all. Espn just reported he has t decided.

It looks like he's leaning to NY but nothing close to official the option of playing with LBJ could come up

First sentence of that ESPN article:

Carmelo Anthony remained a free agent Wednesday night, the day before players can start signing contracts with NBA teams.

Well expected, he knows he is not a championship type of a guy, so better go for the money. I'm happy to watch the Melodrama Knicks crash and burn, for the next 2-3 years, before the trade/amnesty him.

Well the link I originally pasted was a reported written by the New York Daily News and CBS Sports is also saying the same thing (see below.) Guess either there's conflicting reports or maybe the NY Daily News and CBS have it wrong.
