I've given this too much thought...

Here's our new best case scenario....  get ready for this...

Miami re-signs Bosh, Bron and Wade.

This means LeBron doesn't go to Cleveland to form a superteam with Kevin Love.  That means Bosh doesn't go to Houston to form a superteam.   That means Boston still has a fighting chance at getting Kevin Love.

With LeBron off the table, the Cavs go to a backup plan of Ariza/Deng/whatever.   Love will not re-sign in Cleveland without Bron there, so that ensures they don't include Andrew Wiggins in an offer.

Unless GOlden State jumps in again, that leaves Boston with a realistic shot of bringing in Kevin Love... and perhaps if we do that, we might also have the ability to work out a sign-and-trade for Melo.     Rondo + Melo + Love would have a shot in the East.

It sounds counter-intuitive rooting for Miami to keep it together, but LeBron + Kyrie + Love would rule the league for a decade...

Half of a decade. Bron will be 30 this year.
Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.

Kyrie's stock sure is soaring, isn't it? A minute ago I wasn't sure that he wasn't an overrated one-way player made of glass.

I agree with the original post. As much as I hate it and believe it wouldn't help the league, the Big 3 staying in Miami is better for us. More possibilities for us to explore than if they break up. What would be great for the league (Bron leaving, Bosh leaving, etc.) would ironically be worse for us...and obviously I care more about the Cs so yes, hopefully the Big 3 do nothing but stay in Miami while DWade becomes more inneffective season-to-season.

And that's without injury. Also have to remember that within the next five to ten years I'm confident that the current young studs in the NBA will continually improve while after five more years, I'm sure LBJ will begin to decline. That's not to mention whenever and whoever the next-NBA-star-we've-never-heard-of that's currently in high school or college comes into the league.
Long-form is far from dead, but please refrain from paragraph-laden posts! Who wants to read that?!

I'm a big C's fan and from Dayton.  I'd love for the Cavs to get him back.  Cleveland fans deserve it.

The Celtics are not close to contending right now so it doesn't really matter to me. I hope it does happen because it would be a great story and the Cleveland fans deserve it, even if the organization clearly does not for the way they've wasted their good fortune.

I think you best get ready for the worse case scenario.

Bosh to Houston,  Bron to CLE,  Melo stays or goes to LA,   Wade stays and we tank again.  There is a reason DA is gathering picks and facilitating cap space for the Cavs.  Hopefully, he can spin off Bogans on someone for something.

Any scenario that puts us in a position for a young superstar talent such as Okafor is the best case scenario.
