I would gladly give up the clippers pick or cleveland pick(if Lebron goes there) to move Wallace's contract . Would give us 30 mil+ in cap space next year .

Anyone with me?

If we do not do anything, when will Wallace's contract expire? next year or 2015-2016 season?

I would also like to unload his contract, even if it takes 1 of our 1st round pick to do so

That sounds incredibly pointless.  It's not quite as bad as the Clippers giving up an unprotected first just to get rid of Baron Davis.  It's a bit more like the Suns trading two future firsts just to get rid of Kurt Thomas.

so would it be pointless if it means we can sign Rondo and Love or Gasol? Because with Wallace's contract here, that's not going to be possible.

I think Wallace and a pick get moved next offseason. DA will let the dust settle and see who is in asset building mode after this season and sell them on gaining a large expiring and a 1st. No real reason to make that deal right now.

Next off-season the Cs will have 33mill coming off the books and the remaining roster will be AB, Wallace (expiring), Green (expiring) then a bunch of rookie deals Sully, KO, Smart, Young, Zeller.  That coupled with the 9 first rd picks will give the Cs insane flexibility. I expect Rondo will have a deal quickly in place and he and DA will go shopping for team mates.

It'd be stupid to do it now.  If you're going to send out draft considerations with Wallace to clear cap space, the smart thing would be to wait until next summer, preferably as a conditional negotiation that requires a deal in hand with your free agent target, so that you don't end up trading picks for cap space that you end up not using.

There's no point. We aren't getting any major free agents anytime soon.  Wallace will be a valuable expiring contract in a couple years.

Love is going to be traded to Cle if Lebron goes there.  And then he will stay there.

There's no point in making any trade like this anytime soon.

First, as others have said, it's highly unlikely that anyone takes Wallace's deal on simply for a late first round pick like the Clippers have.  Maybe when he has one years left, not when he has two.

Second, there's no reason for us to give up anything to clear his contract until we have some sort of plan in mind and a realistic chance to execute it.  If we do end up trading him and picks, I think it'll be very much like what the Cavs just did.  So if it happens, it'll be next summer with a specific free agent likely to come here if we clear the needed space.

Not willing to give up assets to move Wallace.  Just an impatient move in my opinion, and one with an unlikely payoff given Boston's history in free agency.

Stay disciplined.

If it is needed to make a bigger move, then yes.  Just to get out of the contract, no.

Wallace will be moved with Rondo if Love goes to Cleveland.

Maybe he will play better with his knee fixed.  His value can't go any lower so we might as well put him on the court as much as we can and see what he can do.  Maybe he will show something that will help his trade value.

I don't care if we trade him, I just don't see it as likely.
