Consider it a done deal. Love already said he would re-sign in Cleveland if they landed bron. Cavs can beat every other teams offer.  There is a reason why wiggins hasn't signed his contract yet.  Lock it in.

Irving/Lebron/love is a better big 3 than the one Miami had... And Irving/love both have another decade in them at least... Irving is 22.

Cavs dynasty.  Start prepping to be relevant in 2028.

Why? There is no rule that there can only be one relevant team at a time. Our rebuil may not be as fast as getting Love to pair with Rondo, but there is no reason to despair because of a potential Love-Lebron-Irving combo. That team would still have done legit weaknesses

True... Maybe Marcus smart, ben mclemore and our 2015 top 5 pick will develop into stars. There's always hope.

I wonder what a deal would look like?

Love's salary is $15.7M
So, Cleveland needs to send back at least $10.5M (150% of $10.5M = $15.7M).
Maybe: Anthony Bennett, Tristan Thompson (together = $10.6M) and rights to Wiggins?
Or: Thompson, Waiters, Gee (together = $12M) and rights to Wiggins?

If Love and James both go to CLE the rest of the east is done for the next 4 years.  It does seem like that this is all leading to that... it makes the most sense, no one is going to argue that Love/Kyrie/Lebron is not the best possible team that could be assembled of all the choices.

When Lebron went to Miami he created the best possible team he could and that's why he did it.  This is the same thing, he's not going to settle for trying with Wade in Miami again.  He's going to do what makes the best possible team and in CLE with Love and Kyrie is hands down just that.

LeBron supposedly wants them to keep Thompson.  Waiters, Bennett, Wiggins, and a first or two.

LeBron has not decided yet. That is the fulcrum this is riding on.

I actually think this new Cleveland team including Love won't be a super dynasty. They wont be as good defensively as that peak James, Bosh, Wade, Battier, Chalmers or Allen unit that scrambled and punished you with 3s. That was a unique team.

Meanwhile James himself is going to start feeling father time in a few years.

This is very interesting to watch unfold. And i wouldn't mind watching some of that Cleveland team 's games.

Who is the last really good FA that signed with Boston?

What FA's will there be in a year or two?  Any chance a guy like KD would want to go to Boston if he leaves OKC?  There has been talk of NY, but would Boston be an option?  Just trying to figure out how we can "get good again" in the coming years.  It's always been so tough to sign FA's here.

How much does Varejo make?  Wiggins and Varejo and Waiters might be enough.

It will depend on how much the ball can be in Love and Irving's hands.  If they play more like the Spurs where everybody gets a chance, they could be devastating on offense.  If they play like Miami where Irving is a clear 2nd fiddle to James and Love just stands around like Bosh waiting for the ball, they won't be super special.

He does.  But if the Cavs are getting Love (and Lebron), they might actually have to give up something they want.

And it looks like the trade does work on the trade machine.

i will say that if the cavs get lebron and trade for love, them winning the lottery seems, at best, horribly unfair and, at worst, fixed. (i think its the former, btw) the reality is, they screwed up the lebron teams by giving out bad contracts (though i think the last lebron cavs team should have won the title, no thanks to us), which limited their options. they then ran their team horribly, won 3 out of 4 lotteries (including this year, where they had no business whatsoever of winning), and then get lebron back? are you kidding me? another reason why people think the nba is fixed.

They're clearing the way for Lebron.  Getting ready to give him the max.

Not Love.

I was thinking Cavs will S&T Deng.. and can pair him with Wiggins...
Flip will definitely like Wiggins and will like the veteran presense of Deng...
