Our next move is likely acquiring either Jordan Hill, Kent Bazemore or re-signing Humphries.

Bazemore meets with the Celtics today.

Personally, I want us to sign Jordan Hill using MLE. We already have lots of guards now with Thornton added (3PG, 3SG) (no offense Bazemore), and if TPE was 100% used in the three way trade and we use MLE on Hill, we prob wont be able to re-sign Humphries anyways.

Thoughts?

Were done with Jordan hill. We already have zeller. No need for 2 backup centers.

I think Hump was never in the running for us unless Sully was moved in a deal.  And if that deal brought in a PF, like Love, then again Hump wasn't in the running with us.  His value to us is in a sign and trade since I think he gets more than the mle.  He was ,for stretches, our best player last year.

Baab and Johnson are done with the C's, probably Pressey as well.  They might be traded to clear cap space for some team and then waived or they might just be cut, but I doubt they play a second for the C's this year.

I would wait until the deadline to trade Bogans/Johnson/Pressy and Babb.     Unless its a forward move for us.     We do have the Lee Trade exception, I wouldn't mind using soon too.

Next move will happen after bron/melo/love/bosh are off the market ... And it will involve trading rondo to the pacers, pistons or kings.

Though we might see a small potato move happen before that.

Celtics are done for now, though they might help "facilitate" another deal, eg by using Keith Bogans non-guaranteed contract.

I don't think the Cs want to tie up cap space by using the MLE on any of those players. We aren't about to contend this year, so no need to pursue FAs.

how bout the lakers?

Nash and Randle to boston

Lakers sign his buddy Melo

PG: Rondo
SG: Kobe
SF: Melo
PF: Gasol
 C: Sacre ?

Ugh I would hate for the Lakers to be relevant again though....

A move will have to be made before then as our roster holds too many players

Rondo/Smart/Pressey
Bradley/Young/Thorton/Babb/Johnson/Bogans
Green/Wallace
Bass/Sully
KO/Zeller/Faverani/Anthony

That's seventeen guys. I wouldn't be surprised to see Bogans and an unguanranteed or two in a sign and trade for an MLE guy. We should use our unguaranteeds now in the offseason and then look to move our expirings (Bass, Thorton) closer to the deadline as they'll be more appealing to teams then. Or just let them walk and save the cap space.

You can't wait until the deadline, most non guaranteed contracts have a summer date to become guaranteed for the season, if not they all become guaranteed early January.  The trade deadline is late Feb. ish?  Somewhere in there.

My prediction is the next move will be a trade for Love (seeming less likely) or a trade of Rondo (seeming more likely).

I think the next move is much more likely Rondo going. I think this team is on a 4-5 year rebuild plan with next year being another tank year as year two of the rebuild. After that, they start competing a little better.

In no trade Bogans may be cut so team can retain the young back up players for this season while staying under soft cap.Hard to see them walking away from Moser, Pressey, and Johnson just for a 5 million dollar non guarantee deal chip.

I personally think Hill was a contingency plan if center couldn't be obtained in a trade and Bazmore is a contingency plan if Green is moved in a deal.

I expect the next moves to be minor trades that help Stevens build a logical rotation. I think Bass gets moved to totally clear the deck at PF for Sully and KO. Like I have said in other posts I would look to send him to the Hornets for Biyombo. That would give the Cs a young 4 man big rotation with Sully getting around 30mpg, KO around 28, Zeller 25 and Biyomo 13.

The guard rotation will be a major challenge and I expect for 3 guard lineups unless DA can parlay Thorton for a SF with an expiring deal. Maybe for under performing guys like T Prince or L Fields?  If no trade is made I would figure the following rotation. At point Rondo 35, Smart 13. At SG AB 31, Thorton 17. At SF Green 32, Smart 7, Wallace 9. Obviously Smarts time at the SF is less then ideal but its the only logical way to get the teams likely best players time on the court. Against back up SFs Marcus shouldn't be terribly over matched and its only 7 min per game.

This of course all goes out the window if a deal is made for Love but I expect things to stay relatively quit until the trade deadline mid season.

too many Guards and PFs... Danny's still not finished...

Next move for me will be signing Lance Stephenson which will be used to nab KLove
