That's not fair to Green.  The guy dog ever dog it on the defensive side of the ball.  There's a difference between aggression and effort.

I think this is an indication that the contract Danny gave Bradley isn't ridiculous.  Looks like we're in a new world where the 2nd tier of players gets overpaid by teams with cap room and the superstars by comparison have their incomes limited.  As teams lose out on the top tier free agents they're going to overspend for guys that are left.  I believe Danny read the market correctly.

The easiest way to think of it, in my opinion, is that during RFA the old team has the right of first refusal for any contract offer. That's the 'restricted part'

I guess I'm wondering why Lance Stephenson's agent isn't asking for the max.  Equal passer, better shooter, better rebounder, better defender, better athlete, MUCH more efficient.  And he's a year younger with arguably higher potential (Tmac-ish).

Subtract a little for maturity issues, and he should still at least be in the same ballpark no?  Yet this deal is a full 50% higher than anything I've read linked to Stephenson.  Why such a big difference?

Awful signing. We get the same amount of production out of Jeff Green for half as much.

Furthermore, Hayward's numbers have been trending downwards - not a good look for someone signing a 4 year deal.

lastly, it's especially bad considering that Lance Stephenson is on the table for a good deal less, and his potential is much, much higher at this point.

Stephenson has a long history of issues on and off the basketball court. Then there's also reports that he played a large part in Indy's spiral last year - fans and media seem to think his attitude and play changed after he was snubbed from the all-star game.  My guess is teams are wary that giving him a big payday will allow him to act out more and go rogue or that he'll end up as Mark Blount 2.0
