Man Danny is getting owned this offseason!!! Why isn't he doing anything??!?!?!?!?

What could he really have done?

Something smart, like sign Bradley for roughly half that amount.

Yeah, but he plays about half as much too

What could he really have done? If Utah didn't want to play ball and wanted to let the market set the price only to match, he didn't really have an option.
He could have said to his owner "Don't promise fireworks like an idiot".

sooo danny is getting owned this off-season because he didnt pay Gordon Hayward 16million$ a year??

that is a LOT of money or a marginal player....and yet people here complain we are paying jeff green 9million$ for the same production as hayward

The Avery Bradley deal doesn't look so bad after all does it?  This is a lot of money but if the Celtics really want him and if Utah matches, they can still make an offer for him.  Question is, is he worth it?

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
I think it's a bit of an overpay.

I agree with Who, I think he's a good fit, but man that's a load of cash.

I think I'd rather pay Lance Stephenson $12-13 million per year instead of Hayward at $15 million. Heck, I think I'd rather pay Lance the same amount of money instead, if that's the price they will command. He's probably going to be a better player in the future, even though he will cost me a lot, plus, I dont have to wait for Utah to match.

I think they overpaid,  glad DA did not.   There basically paying Jeff Green 15 million a year.   Jordan and crew blows another, wonder if the gambling makes him prone to gambling on players.  This makes the AB signing look brilliant.

Gordon Hayward gets a rebound every once in a while and actually shows up for work. Jeff Green buys forever stamps because he's a chronic mail it iner.

If Effort met Jeff Green Jeff wouldn't offer to shake hands because it's tooooo hard and he doesn't want to HAVE to be THAT guy.

Can't wait for the next CBA where the owners will be complaining about overpaid players again.  ::)

and about how much money they're losing and they need tax payer support.  Always fun to watch.

I like Hayward on that Charlotte team. Good contrast with Hayward vs Kemba and MKG. Much better player and fit than Gerald Henderson. Provides Charlotte with that secondary ball-handling and playmaking they need alongside Kemba and a shooter with a range who can space the floor necessary for MKG and to help Kemba's dribble drive game.
Sadly I think he stays in Utah after they match.

not sure if Hornets are starting to improve

Al Jefferson, Gordon Hayward, Kemba

still an 8th seed or can they do better?

It's an overpay but overpaying seems to be the trend these days. Even if we got Bradley half the price doesn't mean that we didn't overpay for Bradley.

Based on the current roster of the East teams:
1. Indiana
2. Nets
3. Bulls
4. Wizards
5. Hornets
6. Cavs
7. Celtics (I'm a homer ;) )

Utah's almost certainly going to match -- which makes it a fairly shrewd move by Charlotte. They let players know that they're not afraid to put down money, and they're also not getting stuck with Gordon Hayward. Good reputation to have.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.
