if he goes to charlotte, Hornets just took a nice step to become legit contenders. Big Al and Gordon Hayward reunited.... not bad for the weak east.

but i dont see it because Utah will probably match every offer.

looks like Utah is matching no matter what.

On the bright side, this creates bad blood around the league towards the Hornets and it kills Utah's cap, with Utah being a major rebuilding team like us that would like to sign similar players to the ones we're interested in.

Utah has so much cap room it would be foolish not to match.  Even after matching this deal they will still need to spend additional money just to reach the salary cap floor.

Phew.  At least he won't be coming here now.  $63 million over 4 years? :o  I mean, he's a pretty good player and all, but there's no way that Gordon Hayward should have gotten an offer of a max deal.  From anyone.  Looks like MJ's back, guys ;D  Quick, while we're at it, give them back their former franchise player in Gerald Wallace, even though he had knee surgery, for Bismack Biyombo straight up (sarcasm)! ::)

How pumped is Hayward with life right now?  I imagine he is grinning up a storm right now.  I bet he doesn't sleep for like 5 days

Edit: oops details posted already

Would you guys still want him for that money?

Not in a million years...

Jeff Green is better and cheaper.

No,  I'm thinking we should do Wallace for Al Jefferson instead.  For MJ the Biyombo deal would be WAY too easy.

  • Celtic's only raise championship Banners
I bet Utah matches, thats what they said anyway. Leaving CHA with no sf. Then I bet Hou misses with Bosh and Melo. Houston then gives us the farm for Rondo in a three team trade. Parsons goes to CHA, we get picks from CHA and HOU including the pelicans 2-24 pick. HOU gets Rondo, we get Terrence Jones, Noah Vonleh, Bismac Biyombo. We may also give up sully and BBass.

Thats not a trade proposal just my psychic abilities.

Anyway when UTAh matches the hornets will really need Jeff Green, he'd be good for them as a third option or fourth.

Why ?  He's not that good.

Didn't he shoot like 41% last year ?

I guess any time you can lock up a 16 point 41% scorer who just successfully lead his team to a 25 win season, you gotta do it.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Thank god we didn't go after this chump.
Twice as much as Avery Bradley and almost twice as much as Jeff Green.

What a terrible move by the Bobcats.
Look at the guys numbers last year- he was AVERAGE at best. What exactly does he do that makes him anywhere north of a 10 million dollar a year player?

I wonder if Utah will match.
Good god.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Utah will match.....hands down ....no question.
They know he is TEAM player and hard worker on court every night .....something AB can't seem to stay ON the court consistent and Green won't play on consistent every night .

So yes he worth more than most of the Celtic players .

He shows up and plays hard every night and not injury prone .

You can count on him .

I would love having him on the Celtics , but knew it would take a bunch of jack to get him.

He is worth his money,  and not a pile dog poo like Wallace .

I still don't understand why they didn't just resign him last season. Allegedly he asked for $52m over 4 years
Why not just do try he extension and save yourself some money. Were they hoping he'd get hurt and they could sign him to a Steph Curry deal?

I like Hayward on that Charlotte team. Good contrast with Hayward vs Kemba and MKG. Much better player and fit than Gerald Henderson. Provides Charlotte with that secondary ball-handling and playmaking they need alongside Kemba and a shooter with a range who can space the floor necessary for MKG and to help Kemba's dribble drive game.
