Hey - I agree that I'd like this to sort itself out soon, but these guys are making pretty major decisions and what's their rush?

If anything, I think it's a sign that there isn't a pact going on with the Miami guys opting out to resign there again. Bron may be seriously wavering on whether he wants to return or move on to a different team. That in itself, is interesting.

Should Bosh and LeBron go elsewhere, what happens to Wade?? He's not getting that $42M over 2 years again. He just opted out to stick with Bosh and Bron but he may get left behind AND take a major pay cut to boot. That would be some seriously cold stuff if Bron not only left, but left in a way that cost Wade 10-20M.

My opinion is that is all about the public perception that Riley and LeBroid want out there.

All this posturing of Bosh going to Texas, LeBroid being so magnanimous as to consider Cleveland, DirtyWade and Bosh not hearing from LeBroid in days????!!!! I call bull feces on all that garbage.

These guys colluded to get together orchestrated by Riley 3-5 years ago, and they (especially Riley) don't want that perception out there again, as it gives more credence to the idea of collusion the first time.

I want to see those three chumps together again and someone else hand them their arse like SA did this time.

LeBroid, Dirty and Bosh all together again, "sacrificing" for the team. Just as it was orchestrated by Riley and LeBroid's camp.

While I think Bron should be able to take his time... I do think this will end up screwing Boston a bit.  We only have until the 12th to use that TPE... and Love isn't getting traded until the Bron situation is resolved...  and we probably aren't going to use the TPE until the Love situation is resolved.  So I think we're in a pretty rough position... we've already missed out on players who could have helped us (Asik, Gortat, Afflalo, etc) while we sit here on the ropes anxiously waiting to get tagged into the the game.

Exactly what I don't want to see happen....if LeBron would freggin decide - He should know by now what he's going to do, then do it - so it doesn't screw Boston and DA use of the TPE.

Collusion?  They were under contract for the Heat all year, and were certainly allowed to discuss what might happen if they opted out.  I'm completely fine with not liking them (I know I don't) but collusion doesn't really make much sense in this particular instance.  Holding up the free agent market doesn't do much of anything.

Bron is meeting with the Heat tomorrow... so I'd guess he'll make a decision shortly after that.  I'd guess by next week he's got a team and the dominos start falling...   but hopefully he makes up his mind before the 12th, because that's when the TPE expires.  Cross your fingers he figures it out by the end of the week.

Like I said earlier... "The Decision" took place on July 8th, 2010... the first day Free Agents could sign that year.   This year, they can't sign until July 10th (Thursday).  So maybe Thursday at the earliest.

Ugh. Maybe Riley asked him to wait until the 12th to screw Boston on the trade exception

Apparently he met with Nike today, which I find interesting.

With LeBron, it's definitely a business decision as well as a basketball decision.  Do you think Nike told him a reunion to Cleveland would help his brand more or less than more chances at titles?

I should have been more explicit in my post. My main point is that Riley and James are both trying to mold public perception for their own goals: for James, it's the importance of aggrandizing and rehabilitating his brand, and for Riley it's accommodating the king for the purpose of keeping LeBroid, primarily, happy.

+1.. You're obviously right that in the legal sense, there cannot, by legal definition, be collusion this time as they all had been teammates this year, and that wasn't what I was proffering.

The specter of collusion (the cHeating kind) the first time is still there, however, and I believe all involved, especially Riley are sensitive to it. I also believe that LeBroid's purported interest in Cleveland or anyone else is a sham to which Riley is a party, so while not in a legal (or illegal) sense is collusion occurring this time, the dictionary definition certainly does apply:

"secret or illegal cooperation or conspiracy, especially in order to cheat or deceive others"

I've thought about this.  You'd think that him joining Kobe and Melo on the Lakers would be huge for business...   But I think that would cause about the same amount of backlash as his Miami move.  On a character redemption scale, going back to the Cavs would probably do more for his image.  That would be a heck of a story... especially if he won a title there.

Nike probably already has the rights to that Skylar Grey "I'm coming home" song.

"I know my kingdom awaits... and they've forgiven my mistakes".  Too easy.  Too bad it's already so painfully cliche.

"Let the rain wash away... all the pain of yesterday"...

I'm already crying.  Go back to Cleveland, Bron...

If LeBron goes to Cleveland,

I could see a sign and trade of Wade to Milwaukee for Sanders/Mayo benefiting both teams.  Wade gets his money and he can get the same "return home" superstar treatment that LeBron gets and he gets to play on a team with good, young players.   Miami gets a younger player in Mayo and a good (although knucklehead) center.

Wade isn't going anywhere. He's Miami's Kobe.

The spotlight in Miami will be solely on Wade if Bosh and James leave, and the Heat will be awful.  Milwaukee would be way better situation.

I feel like Love will be 2nd shoe to drop in Cleveland.   They can trade Waiters, Bennett, Hopson, Karasev, Gee, future Heat pick, etc...
