I think if Bazemore chooses another team, then I think the celtics use their TPE and maybe 1-2 future picks to land Lance Stephenson. This would be a great signing. We bolster up the depth at SG, get a guy who can score an avg of 15pts a game, and he also averaged 5 assists a game and 8 rebounds.

When Indiana were in their second half slump involving Hibbert and a bunch of others being "no-shows" the only two star players emerging for the Pacers were Stephenson and George. Even in the playoffs, Stephenson was sub-par but lets be honest, the entire Pacers team was sub-par. Stephenson still averaged 15 pts a game in the playoffs, and that's when he was sub-par.

This is why I say we should get Stephenson using TPE, he can only get better with Brad Stevens coaching and he can provide great depth and scoring at the guard position with Bradley and Young.

What do you guys think? And no bashing my opinions please. These are just my thoughts from watching Stephenson play and what he could bring to the team.

If it comes down to Bazemore v Stephenson, I will go Stephenson if he agrees. If not, Bazemore would be a very good shooter still. Our goal should be landing Stephenson or Bazemore. Many of us thought the Celtics wouldn't land a "star" player this FA. Well, now we are emerging as a front runner in signing a great player in Lance Stephenson.

I appreciate your enthusiasm, but you should cool your jets lol. We aren't even the front runners for Lance. It really depends on what Lance is looking for anyways. Money or stability.

Haha lol ya probably. This quiet FA is making me anxious about what we do. And NBATv recently reported that Dallas might be going away from Stephenson and looking elsewhere. Rumors though. And LAL probably won't get Stephenson if they re-sign Gasol or get Melo.

I like Stephenson, but the PG/SG minutes will be taken up with Rondo, Smart, and Bradley. I don't see how he would fit unless Danny decides to contend now and deal Smart/Bradley.

Say if we trade Smart, Sully, and picks for Love. Then a S&T for Stephenson would be perfecto.

I'd be very happy with a lineup of

Rondo/Stephenson/Pressey
Stephenson/Bradley
Green/Wallace
Love/KO
MLE Center

I have to say that the conditional "if we don't get Kent Bazemore, I would love Lance Stephenson" is pretty hilarious.

If we don't get the modestly priced home, I would love the McMansion.
If we don't get the Kia Optima, I would love the Jaguar XJ
If we don't get the barista, I would love the runway model.

And so on.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
I would love to add Lance. The best offer he has gotten is reportedly 5/44 which is less than $ 9 MM per. If he would take 5/50 with us throwing the Pacers a pick or two I think that would be great.

From a fit standpoint it isn't the best, but since we are in the middle of a rebuild, asset accumulation should be the most important factor, not fit.

I think if they were to sign Lance, they could keep all their current guards and play a three guard lineup for stretches each game. There is also a chance Smart won't be ready immediately in which case it wouldn't hurt to have a third guard that can give us great minutes, especially when the other two have recently missed games due to injury
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

;D This is honestly my favorite time of the offseason. That little window before FA signings can be announced, and all sorts of crazy gets out there.

more seriously, i'm worried about all of LS's character concerns. It would be one thing with him coming to the Celtics with PP and KG still around, but not with all the impressionable youngsters.

TP...   If we don't have any luck landing Jordan Hill, I think Kevin Love would be a nice consolation prize.

I would love to have Stephenson. The Celtics reportedly haven't talked to him yet.

Sorry, the slot that's slated for an "generously paid G that is just decent" has just been taken recently. I guess that means no Stephenson.

Haha lol. The TPE is the only chance it happens. I would love Stephenson but at a right price only. I agree Bradley was overpaid a bit considering no other team seemed to make bidding offers to him. I would have been happy with 6-6.5M/yr, not 8.

I guess you haven't heard that DA is planning to make an all Guards roster :P
