Pretty sure we had this poll before, but curious the board consensus right now.  If you had to trade one of them in a package deal (for a center or a star)... would you rather trade Sully or trade Oly?

Interesting.   Rumor had it that Flip liked Oly more than Sully.

I would have preferred to keep Sully.  But in the past few days or so, we have learned that Olynyk has been working his butt off in the gym getting in better shape while Sully has been eating chips on the couch talking about it.

For me its about Sullinger's unwillingness to take his weight seriously and shed the pounds.  He a great rebounder and could be a decent offensive player, but that overweight body is going to lead to constant injury/conditioning problems.

high school highlights...normally players get more mobile after.

Sullinger.

I think KO is the better player moving forward. More skilled than Sully already and as we saw in his new body, looks like he works harder.

Sully is better inside and probably is the better player

IF ...he gets off his rear  works out daily

And quits meeting Big Baby for meals

At the buffets

Otherwise...if Sully doesn't take making millions seriously ......then he probably is a hopeless case and should be traded.

So stupid simple ,  eat right, train ,and sleep.......just amazes me how thick young skulls are

I've always been onside with keeping Sully as he has shown to be a good rebounder, strong, plays bigger than his height suggests, and seemingly the promise to be a solid starter. His constant weight issues though and lack of effort to do anything about it suggest he may never come close to realising that potential.

Oly has the post skills and my great concern was that he's not athletic or strong enough to compete at the NBA level. It seems though that he's more than willing to work his butt off to get in NBA shape.

I really like both these guys so this is hard.

IMO I see Sully's ceiling as David West with a 3 point shot.

I see KO's ceiling as Spencer Hawes. So this is why I picked trading KO.

At least for right now his stock my be higher than Sully.

I find it strange since most people here appreciate the guys who can get dirty down low and have some defensive skills (things KO is lacking) which Sully can do. If he can improve or decrease his 3 point shots and stay healthy he is a much better long term Celtic. Also Sully is a year younger.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

just keep both. You don't have to trade either unless there is a deal we can't refuse (not Love).

post-allstar stats

Sully:  13.4 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 40%/29%/79%  28.4 minutes
Oly:   11.7 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 51%/43%/82%  22.5 minutes

Post all-star Per-36:

Sully:  16.9 points, 10 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 40%/29%/79%
Oly:  18.7 points, 9.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 51%/43%/82%

Small sample size, but interesting.  People claim Sully is a superior rebounder... Oly doesn't seem significantly worse.   Oly seems to be a superior offensive player and passer... .neither is a factor defensively.

I don't think it's fair to say KO is more skilled.  He may be more dynamic, but Sully's post and rebounding skills are superior and valuable.  If only he would dedicate himself to fitness...

Olynyk is growing on me, but I don't really see him drastically improving. I think he pretty much maxed out his potential more or less.

Sullinger, IF (and that's a big if) can get his fat ass in the gym and start shedding weight, I can see him being very good.

Tough call, but if you held a gun to my head I'm trading Olynyk. But if we get Kevin Love I wouldn't care. Trade both these guys if we had to.

Either, but I'd prefer to keep the guy without the DV noise.
