Yeah because if there's one position we need to fill it's PF.

Exactly.

Don't understand why some can't figure this out.

Love would be a huge upgrade to what we have now.

I agree and understand that having a top 5 scorer in the NBA is a huge upgrade over two underwhelming PFs on their rookie contracts.

My sentiment was more: Let's actually look like a team that needs one big name player in order to compete. I know the "trickle down" argument for acquiring Love, I just am not buying it.

It's difficult to envision what a Rondo/Green/Love trio would look like playing together. I am not sure if it's enough to compete. I personally am skeptical about acquiring Love because it still leaves us with legitimate holes to fill and with two "borderline" players expecting max deals.

Still, I know there are few better options out there.

Wrong. the one position we need to fill is undersized SG/PG.

Edit: Feel dumb for misreading and being flippant.

I know many fans aren't saying Love is a cure-all, but I feel like many are intimating that. You're right to point out yet another unnerving stockpile of not-so-valuable assets.

And while you're getting rid of the whole team why not finish by selling out completely and just rename them the Minnesota Celtics.  you are all totally nuts!!!

Love will be here but for a whole lot less then you guys want to give away!!! it's Kevin Love we're talking about,  not Lebron James!!!!!!!!

Yes, because the team we have now with the 25-57 record should be untouchable.

i dont think that was his point. i believe he was saying that the celtics should not over pay for love. i dont think anyone can really disagree with that...except maybe flip.  :D

i read where what ainge offered minnesota was considerably less than cbers had speculated. i trust ainge's judgement and negotiating tactics. start low, then slowly move up if needed.

ainge wants to make sure that even if love comes to boston, he can surround him with credible players AND have enough assets to attract another star.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Pre-Draft --  'Im sure a deal is already in place, Love will be here on draft night'

Post Draft -- 'Love will be here before the end of July'

Prediction....

Pre-Season -- 'Love will be here by the trade deadline'

Post Season -- 'Love is going to sign here'

.....I want the guy just as much as anyone else, but I think the deal is pretty dead at this point.

you got it

If there was an offer for Love pre draft and Wolves didn't take it, then Danny is not going to leave the deal on the table still. Espcially when guys like Smart, KO are proving worthy of being kept
