How do you guys see the Celtics using the trade exception, which expires on July 12th? What player would you like to see the Celtics sign using the exception? Hope the Celtics use this "gem" from the Nets trade to bolster up the roster particularly at the PF or C position considering our tight cap space at the moment.

I hope they use it on an expiring contract. A one year rental at center that could be used at the deadline or could be used to simply let expire after this season.

I don't think there is anyway to project its use at the moment.  It seems as though Queen James and Melo have the entire league in a holding pattern.  My guess is that after Melo resigns with the Knicks this weekend, Lebron will have to make a decision.  I heard on the radio that he has a basketball camp in Vegas this coming week and if he hasn't made up his mind by then the entire camp will be in chaos because of the media.

Off topic but what I hope happens..

Melo and Gasol to Knicks
James back to Cleveland
Bosh to the Rockets
Miami fans once again completely forget the Heat exist (they barely pay attention now)

I get the feeling DA my not use the TE at all, but if he does the only thing that makes sense is a one-year rental of a center,  real center not another PF, this team has plenty of those. They also have a decent wing corps. With Green, Wallace, Young.  The guard depth is OK too with Rondo, Bradley, Smart, Pressey and and occasionally Young or Wallace at the 2-spot.

Exactly, that's why I think he may not use it.

Charlotte alone has three centers who have only one remaining fully guaranteed year on their contracts: Zeller, Biyombo, and Haywood (until he got traded this past week, anyways).

True, there is also Robin Lopez and even Perkins who have 1 guaranteed year on their contracts, whom the celtics could acquire for a 1 year deal as a rental center. They also aren't too expensive.

I was thinking for either Lin or Perkins and try to get whatever young player or pick possible.  Problem is, why pay 8 million or so when it would have cost maybe 3 million to just but a pick in the late 20's last month.  Would you if you were an owner want to pay out 8 million just so you could get Clint Capela or Perry Jones.

Wouldn't mind seeing us take perk to facilitate a S + T for gasol to okc. Pau would be awesome next to serge.

I want to use it facilitating a trade or to get assets. Larry Sanders is a fav of mine because his stock is so low right now, Id love to try and get him....only for the right price.

I'd take Robin Lopez in a minute I like him better than his brother, he's quicker and more athletic. I was always a Perk fan but at this point he doesn't bring anything to the position that I'm looking for, rather have Hill.
