I don't think it's fair to compare Jordan to Perk.  Jordan is far better.  He is one of the beat rebounders in the league and he is so aware of his offensive limitations that shoots like a million percent from the field.

Last season, Jordan's PER was 20.3.  He allowed opposing centers to rack up a PER of 19.6.  Jordan is a great rebounder, but guys who only do one thing really we can't play 35 minutes a night in the NBA.

Mike

I thought Doc had it all figured out with Jordan??? So Jordan's not really a beast?

So, let me get this straight. We sign a young, starting guard who is on the rise for 8 mil.

Clippers sign a bench big man, who might play 15-20 min a night for 6 mil.

They got a steal?  And we got ripped off?  Really?  This is hilarious.

P.S.  Did you see what 8ppg scorer Patrick Peterson got?  Yeah, we got a fine deal with Avery.

9 million/year for Hawes, and some people here thought we would get Gortat for that amount

Jordan can't really play the end of games because he is such an offensive liability not being able to shoot foul shots.   You can put Hawes is his place, and with Dudley (or one of their other shooters at SF), and with Reddick or Crawford they can really space the floor and let Griffin and Paul go to work.

Think of it as an Eddie house sort of deal.  Hawes is flawed but a very good fit for that team.  Rebounds well and has range to open lanes.  Against certain match ups I also think you could see he and Jordan on the floor at same time
