Humphries was the 11th rated center in the NBA in PER last year.
He actually was our best player.

Other than he got abused by other centers...

He played well. He shot well, he defended well, and he hustled.

He "tried" to defend well. Again, he was overmatched by other centers.

Occasionally. But there are very few legitimate centers left in the league.

Exactly.  He's a player who belongs on a contender's bench, not in a rebuilding situation.  Plus, he'd be taking minutes away from the kids who need playing time to develop.  Let him go, Danny!  It'd make no sense to resign him, imo.  Unless of course it was some kind of sign and trade...

Maybe he would be a useful chip if we traded Rondo to the Rockets.

If the kids cannot beat out Kris Humphries for minutes, we should send them on their merry way.

Occasionally. But there are very few legitimate centers left in the league.

Cousins, Noah, Jefferson, D. Jordan, Howard, Drummond, Favors, Lopez, Hibbert, M. Gasol, P. Gasol, Duncan, Dalembert, Bogut, Vucevic, Varejao, Nene, Chandler, Splitter, Horford, Asik, Perkins, O'Neal, Kanter, Sanders, Kaman, McGee, Okafor, Valanciunas, Mozgov, etc.

Those are 30 from very good to mediocre. There are like 30 more I didnt type out that are basically scrubs. We even lack a mediocre level center.

A list that considers Jefferson, Horford, and Sanders to be real centers, and includes Perkins, O'Neal, McGee, Okafor and Mozgov simply reinforces the original point. There are few true centers in the league... that can actually play.

Yeah some of them are scrubs, but we dont even have a scrub center.

Joel Anthony does not count, he gives scrubs a bad name.

That was one of the dooshiest things I have ever seen in my life

I watched the whole thing though. Not many guys would do that. I've seen nba fans, nfl fans, on youtube but they wouldn't stick around until the end.

Faverani and Anthony are at least as good as half of the players you listed.

Not sure if you were joking but I have the team a little more balanced: PG Rondo, PG Smart, SG Bradley, SG Young, SF Wallace, SF Green, PF Bass, PF Olynyk, PF Sullinger, C Anthony, C Faverani

Granted Anthony and Faverani are not really going to play at all, but the other 4 positions are really well covered for a rebuilding team.

That is just..false. I'm usually on the kool-aid, but there is no dressing our center situation. Every player listed in that post is a far better center than Fav and Anthony were last year. Like..much, much better. I hope Fav and Iverson have improved, though. They have a shot at being on the lower end of that list.

while I agree with that, I still see it as a waste of a signing.

I don't condone outright tanking and I don't condone just handing young players mins., just to give 'em mins. but signing Hump to me is us holding onto dreams of being an 8 seed that gets bounced in the 1st for the next 3 - 4 yrs., but never actually being any good.
