So Sefelosha gets half the money per year that AB got?

Great deal Danny.... ::)

And I love Anige , but this would have made more sense than resigning Bradley . Sefelosha is just as good of a defender, but with better size .

I think that's about right. Thabo just turned 30, and should soon enter the downslope of his career. He also lacks Bradley's ability to contribute on offense.

Yeah, I like Thabo a lot, but he doesn't have any upside at all.  His game is in regression, to the point where he's almost purely a defensive player these days.  (Not that his offense has ever been great, but his shooting fell off of a cliff last year.)

Meh, not that bad.  Atlanta's probably willing to bet that his down year this past season was just due to injury, since he played much better the two seasons before that (while he was healthy).

Well I have to change my stance on the Bradley contract, seeing all of these mediocre guards get payed in the 4-5 million dollar range I don't feel bad giving a 23 year old Bradley 8 million. I still hate that its fully guaranteed with no kind of games played clauses. Also, I hope this deal doesn't make Bradley lazy and stop trying to progress his game, he really needs to work on his handles and passing.
You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into.

Stats last season

Thabo - 61 games, 26 minutes a game, 41% from the field, 32% from 3, 3.6 rebs, 1.5 assts, 1.3 stls, 6.3 pts.  30 years old.

Avery - 60 games, 30 minutes a game, 43% from the field, 39% from 3, 3.8 rebs, 1.4 assts, 1.1 stls, 14.9 pts.  23 years old.

I would trade AB and his deal for Thabo and his deal any day of the week even at their age.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Thabo's defense has also regressed considerably. He's no longer a viable defensive stopper against premier wings.

So, he's primed to turn into Keith Bogans?

Not quite -- Bogans are Australian, and Thabo's Swiss.

Yeah, it's kinda funny, Durant is pobably their best perimeter defender now. He still occassionally dies, or gets lost, on screens but he made a big jump this year.

I doubt it will make him lazy.  He'll turn 27 at the end of the contract.  If he improves, that will be the biggest contract of his career, not this one.

Why? What is it about Bradley that you don't like?
