That's common sense.  From 2015 to 2018, Brooklyn has either traded away their first round pick outright or given rights to swap it to Boston or Atlanta.  There's no point in them making any move except to win now and sign-n-trade Pierce for scraps doesn't do that.

I know KG looked cooked but if PP is leaving I'd certainly call NJ to see what they want for KG. We can use a defensive center for 20-24 minutes per.

That's not Stern's fault.  If the Clippers hadn't been constantly leaking to the media about the deal in order to pressure Ainge, the league office would have looked the other way.

That's a great idea, KG coming back "home", and in no other scenario short of KG retiring or KG getting moved to the Clips with PP, do I see PP leaving KG after PP talked KG into the Nets deal...no way....their bond is too strong.

so, basically Ainge got 4 first round picks from the Nets for a 1 year rental of Pierce and a cooked KG.

IF pierce leaves and KG retires those picks just got ALOT more valuable.

I liked the Nets package better. The Celtics couldn't pay Bledsoe and Jordan's contract would've financially hampered them.
