For those who are so pumped to bring in Hayward, what's next?

What do you think will happen after the C's get him?

He is not a superstar, he is a contributing role player. Whether he starts or not, he isn't a star. So what exactly are you all so pumped for?

That by signing Hayward, we will go from too-bad-for-playoffs-but-too-good-for-tanking to too-bad-for-playoffs-but-too-good-for-tanking?

If anything, not only will that team be stuck in mediocrity for a loooong time, but it will eliminate us from any further tanking and put us into the same class as the Sixers and Hawks of the past who were too good for lottery and beyond garbage for championship contention.

But go ahead and tell me how he will turn around our franchise like KG did in 08 and how he will lead us to some place.

Hayward's presence on this team doesn't help us one bit (and instead makes our efforts to get better even more unsuccessful) without actually getting a true superstar along.

And no, as good Rondo is, you need a star who can take the entire scoring pressure on himself and take over.

I think bring in Hayward would mean shipping out Rondo and green. For next season this is at best a leteral move and even possibly a step back. The team gets younger and has in place a nice mix of players at the guard/wing positions with Smart, AB, Hayward and Young. Add KO and Sully and this team is young and talented at every positoin except C. Next off season is a strong center FA and draft class.

So the team repeats in the lottery similar to Utah this year. (play hard but just be young and developing). Then add a center next year. Still holding alot of assets DA can them upgrade at the positions of weakness and have a strong 7-8 man team. Rather then a 2 Star and spare parts team.

It's either of those teams because there's no way DA would offer him a max contract... just a joke by Cleveland. For all the complaining about Green's and Bradley's deals, compared to Hayward receiving the max those guys are playing for free

I'd be stoked for Jordan Hill right now! Honestly I think he's the modern NBA center, little smaller but with more athleticism. As long as they don't give him the farm!

I disagree with you on Hayward.  He makes players around him better just like Jeff Hornacek did and like Ray allen does.  He moves without the ball and when he gets the ball it does not always stop like it does with Jeff Green.  I'm not for a max deal for him either but at 10 to 12 he would help impliment the type of offense BS likes to run. 

 I wont discuss tanking.  It violates leauge rules and undermines sportsmanship IMO.  You don't become a winner by quitting or practicing losing in my book.  Put yourself in the best position to win every night.  The paying fans I believe deserve better.

 On Rondo I think he is history once we get someone to bite.  Having him pound the ball for 22 of 24 seconds is not the vision BS has. He is all about moving and moving the ball.

If the Cavs sign Hayward to a max deal, awesome. Yet another idiotic move by them, limiting their cap space in the future (which will impact their young talent in multiple ways). I hate the fact that they keep getting lucky in the lottery, but the fact that they are run by morons at least prevents them from being good. Can you imagine how we'd be with 3 #1 picks in 4 years? I like Hayward, but think he's an overall downgrade from Green, who can play some elite defense at times (Hayward might be better offensively, but I think Green has been hurt by not playing with Rondo much since he's become the "prime focus" of the offense, which he isn't exactly given the touches AB and Sully get...which they should as well).

As much as I dislike the Cavs for their luck getting multiple 1st in resent years and agree that their going to over pay Hayward I can see potential in the signing. If the Cavs sign Hayward his and Wiggins additions to the roster on top of the documented issues with Irving makes Waiters expendable. Why not offer him and Varejo to the Bucks for Sanders? Trade headaches.

Bucks then have 3 scorers with Parker, Waiters and Knight. They would then have a vet at center in Varejo who can be backed up by Henson.

Cavs then have a lineup of Irving (22), Wiggins (19), Hayward (24), Thompson (23) and Sanders (25). They also have some talent on the bench. The guys in this starting lineup actually compliment each other very well. The money to Irving and Hayward and Sanders will lock this team together for a while but that may not be a bad thing. If Sanders keeps his head straight they should be a constant playoff team with potential for more depending on Wiggins development.
