$12m for Wade sounds about right but Chris Bosh making $11m? That's a heck of a sacrifice for him. Does he make that much money in endorsements? I'll assume he doesn't.

$12m in cap gives them enough to really go after Lowry now though. But this should end any Carmelo speculation.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

Reports are that LeBron has learned his lesson from 2010 and there won't be a one hour special this time. This year it will only be a 30 minute special followed by a 45 minute post-decision special.

LeBron is the one that could give up the money and make it back in endorsements but he isn't.  I can't say that I blame him but why would Bosh give up 40 million or more?  That's just ridiculous... I'm all for home team discounts but that's like getting fleeced by family.

Chris Bosh just wants to be loved.

How much money would LeBron generate if he did an American Idol style voting for what team he should sign with?

"Who wants Lebron James" or they could do it like Bachelor and have him give roses to GM's he's keeping on his list

Bosh is giving up quite a bit, but also getting the 5-year deal, it seems.

And they get all that playoff money.

The big questions though are who else they bring in/bring back to fill out the rotation.

First I'll be surprised that Wade makes the 4 years.

Bosh is getting the short end of the stick, and he taking it so Lebron doesn't have to sacrifice anything. I get he's taken less money and never has been the MAX guy, but to do it now, when you need to surround your self with players, and to ask your friends to take less is low.

He's learned nothing from the Spurs like he said he did. The Spurs highest paying player was just under 15M I believe. Thats why they get quality players around them. Yeah, with Wade and Bosh bending over and taking a cut, they'll be able to get a good PG and C, but the bench could still be crap.

Lebron made 72M last year. 19M basketball, over 50 outside of it. Do you think Wade or Bosh even comes close to that, and their so called friend is asking them to take a pay cut so he can get his? Lebron could play for a dollar and still make more outside of basketball than most a lot of players make their entire career.

Sorry, bad day at work, had to vent!  :-\

Mickey Arison has more money than LeBron. He could easily pay into the Luxury Tax to give Bosh a larger deal.

Bosh was also the highest paid player when the big 3 originally formed. And he's likely to have more dollars guaranteed than Wade or James.

And this is exactly the kind of behavior fans say they want from players -- that they shouldn't be all about the money, that someone Kobe's handicapping his franchise by taking such a large deal, etc.

Sounds like sour grapes to me.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

This is even more bizarre than anything I'd imagined.

Bosh and Wade can opt out of their under-market deals in 2017, right?

Tacit agreement that they will be better compensated when the CBA rolls over?

Does this maximize the money to the three of them while leaving cap space, and Lebron is going to give them a kick back?

I hope it turns out to be a one year max deal and we can see the Decision 3.0 next summer and that it will turn into an annual ESPN event.  ;D
