Not a big surprised that none of these guys got calls from Celts management. Or maybe they did but are told that they have to explore other options first.

What are the chances either of these guys will be brought back??

What about Pressey, Babb, Johnson??

especially with Humph I bet DA has on going communication with his Agent in regards to a S&T. I don't expect him back unless a deal goes down involving 2 of the other 3 PFs. (Bass, Sully, KO
Mavs
Wiz

They're under contract, if they aren't around here it's because they were part of a trade or we got something better... so, pretty much irrelevant.

Hump wasn't bad, I would keep him around if he is willing to take a lot less money and not start...which he probably isn't willing to do.  Still though, if we magically got a competitive team together and had to trade Sully + Bass to do it, I could see him sticking around.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
I would like to get Hump back, but not for the price he previously was being paid.

He's very solid. Could be a very good 3rd big. Will rebound and play tough defense, score here and there. MLE sounds nice.

I agree completely, though unfortunately we'd have to clear out Bass as well.

If Bass were included as a salary ballast for Love and we put our whole collection of prospects out there to make the move, thus getting Love and then retaining Rondo and resigning Bradley, I'd be thrilled to keep Hump around.  I prefer him to Bass for the superior rebounding, instigating, and similarly nice midrange jumper, and he'd be a fantastic backup to Love on a contender.  Not that Bass would be terrible in that role; it would be his ideal role as well.

But to me, Sully, Olynyk, and Bass would all have to be gone to resign Hump, and that might be possible in a Love deal.

So we'd have a starting lineup  of possibly Rondo/Bradley/Green/Love/CenterNeeded with Hump off the bench, Young, ability to resign Bayless.  With a Center, we might have deep playoff aspirations in the East, with the trade exception and probably a few parts left over to shift around.

Trade exception for Gasol?

bayless? if bradley is moved, smart starts and sg and i can see bayless around as 3rd guard off bench
pressey i hope was working on his outside shooting all off season, if he's improved that than maybe
i'd keep one of the two johnson or babb as end of bench guy, like both of them
would trade all three in a package if needed i should add

hump i like better than bass, wish he was 6'11" and he could start at center!!
sign and trade would be my guess, hump is good enough to start for a lot of teams in nba, don't think he fits with our current group that well i.e. ko and sully need pt

I'd keep Hump, but only if Bass is traded and he signs for 1 or 2 years at $4M per.

Bayless . .. . minimum deep bench only.

The Celtics have 3 power forwards on the books already with Sullinger, Olynyk and Bass.

Two of them would have to leave to justify expense of keeping Humphries.
