Instead of paying Ariza 10 million  (I live in Louisiana and when he played in New Orleans he seemed like he never could hit the corner 3 on a consistent basis, now he is all the rage)...

Why not consider a Green/Sullinger trade for Thompson/Waiters?

They get a true SF, slide Bennett over to PF, Sullinger can play both PF and C for them.

We get more athletic at PF and get a SG to play next to Smart (in the event we trade Rondo) Waiters is better than McLemore is he not?

Well, he shot 47% and 44% from the corner in Washington his two years in Washington, compared to 34% and 41% while in New Orleans, so I can understand your skepticism while also understanding the love being thrown is way.  He shot 41% overall from 3 last year.

Because they can sign a largely similar player for a largely similar price tag, and keep Thompson and Waiters, apparently.

1. The deal is incredibly lopsided in their favor...
2. Mclemore is miles ahead of Waiters in terms of potential and hes not as much of nuthead as Waiters...
Would rather keep Sully and Green

I guess he is younger than I thought, just turned 29.  But he has been in the league 10 years and he is about to get paid based off one good year?  This keeps happening in the NBA (paying guys off one career year that happens to be in their contract year) and I guess it always will.

I see your point about the Cavs paying Ariza 10 mil instead of paying Green 8 mil and having to give up players. But, they are going to have to turn around and pay Thompson an extension, and then Waiters the next year.  If they lose out on Ariza, I think they might be interested in Green.  Even if it involves just Thompson and filler for Green.
